Cheap Advertising for Your WAHM Website - Is It Worth the Money?

By Denise Willms

As the proud owner of a work at home mom (WAHM) website, one of the most important things you need to do to spread the word about your product or service. Paid button and banner advertising is one way you can do that.

While I love article marketing and use it as my primary source of gaining leads and traffic, Iíve learned not to ignore the importance of paid online advertising.

Button and banner advertising can be a crucial element of building your brand on the internet. If you include your website name, the URL to your website, your message and a call to action on your ad, everyone who sees your ad will begin to recognize your business and remember what it is you do.

There are always some great deals available for WAHM advertising. But when you begin searching for places to display your button and banner advertising, you want to think about a lot more than price.

But before you decide to jump in and pay for advertising on any website, do a little digging. Here are some things you should know before paying to advertise on a website:

Who uses the site? Is it a group that will be interested in what you sell?

How many unique visitors does the website get each month? This will tell you how many different people come to the site.

How much of the traffic is repeat visitors? While new visitors are nice, sometimes whatís even more telling about a siteís success is how frequently those visitors come back.

How long is an average visit to the site? Do visitors stay long enough to even see your ad?

Some website owners will publish this information along with their advertising rates, or you can simply request the information. If what they tell you doesnít sound quite right, another place you can find information about a site youíre interested in advertising on is by visiting and looking up information on the site.

You should keep in mind that Alexa isnít 100% reliable either, since it only tracks visitors who have the Alexa toolbar installed.
