Worlds Collide

The last time I picked up a romance novel was probably four plus years ago. I remember it being short, not very well written, with a weak plot. In fact, it seemed to be based solely on titillating circumstances arising every other page. Perhaps that is why it took years to pick up another romance novel.
Then Worlds Collide found its way into my hands. A Christian romance novel! That was new territory. Well, praise the Lord for Christian romance novels!
Worlds Collide by Alison Strobel is a regular Jane meets Hollywood A- list story, but it goes far beyond glitz and glam, in fact there isn't much glitz at all. It is packed with realistic drama and will make you cry real tears. As for real, I even had myself fooled into believing this was based on a real couple, an actual biography, until my sister pointed out the word "Fiction" on the back cover!
The set up is an up and coming author interviewing the famous Mr. Harrington and his beloved "commoner" wife Grace for their biography. Each chapter comes from either Grace or Jacks perspective memory, with the interviewer chiming in once in a while. It may sound like a fairly tale at first, but Grace and Jacks relationship goes through many ups and downs, and the ending will shock you. This novel brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion, and I couldn't put it down.
The Christian part? Grace's faith is intertwined in the story, along
with how Jack deals with her beliefs. It doesn't overwhelm the love
story, or the conflict. It wasn't flaky, which part of me expected.
Alison threaded faith into the story with much grace.
