Tim Kimmel, the author of Grace Based Parenting, has written another great book for parents! Why Christian Kids Rebel is a parenting how- to, self check, and rebellion prevention tool kit, all in one. While certainly helpful to parents of children knee deep in rebellion, Why Christian Kids Rebel tackles the why, how's, and prevention for all parents.
He examines biblical examples of rebellion, such as the prodigal son and David's family. He also differentiates between different types, or degrees of rebellion. He has a way of opening ones eyes to common parenting mistakes that we are all prone too, and gives a reality check as to how our own UN-Christ like behaviors and habits may contribute to the likelihood of our children rebelling. Our relationship with Christ and our own example does effect our quality of parenting. It is one of the most important, if not the most important ingredient to a successful Christian family.
