Tweener Press by Max Elliot Anderson

Reviewed by Amy B

This is a series of adventure packed books even an adult can find enjoyable. The three books from this series I received for review were Legend of the White Wolf, Secret of Abbott's Cave and Mountain Cabin Mystery. Girls and boys alike will enjoy reading these books. There is adventure, encounters with wild animals, danger and some valuable life lessons.

Mountain Cabin Mystery tells the story of Scott and two of his pals from school and church. They finally get accepted at the wilderness camp they have been taking classes and studying to attend. Once there, however, they become careless and lose the rest of their group. Throughout the rest of the story they are faced with surviving on their own, and what excitement they having doing so.

Legend of White Wolf is the touching story of a tween boy, Brian, who saved a young wolf's life when he was several years younger. Unfortunately, there is so much disbelief from others that even he sometimes wonders if it really happened. While pursuing the truth there are dangerous and touching moments. Also, much of the story revolves around the friendship between Brian and a Christian Native American who does his best to encourage Brian to want to know God.

Secret of Abbott's Cave is the tale of Randy and his friends, their detective club and their camping and cave exploring adventure. The boys spend a lot of time preparing for their adventure. Just before leaving they find out about a nearby robbery. The boys experience the perils of the cave, an encounter with the bank robbers and the reaction of their families and community once it is discovered what they have done.

After reading the books, I gave them to my nine year old daughter to read. She has already read one and is well into the second book. I've been informed that we have to go out and by the rest of the books in this series. I think that says a lot when there are all sorts of toys and videos out there to be had, but she requests I go buy the rest of the Tweener Press books.

All the books that I read from this series have adventure and excitement, but also share something about Christian faith and values.
