Becky Miller is a stay-at-home- mom working on her Super Mom and Super Christian status, as she tries to keep the family boat floating and do "Big Things" for God. It seems like she's about to get the acknowledgement and payback she deserves, for all that she does.
However, her family is about to enter into crisis mode as her husband has 'job complications' and Becky suddenly runs into a wall concerning her churches women's ministry, which she helped establish. Other problems creep up as well: crises in her friends lives, health concerns for one of her children, and a complicated relationship with her unbelieving sister.
Her super status and goals go into a tailspin when so many things go wrong at once, and Becky struggles to define her purpose in life and where God is taking her family. Should life really be about the super "Big Things" she aims to accomplish, after all?
The Secret Life of Becky Miller is my first "mom lit" novel, and was a thoroughly enjoyable read, with a great message that every Christian (SAHM moms, especially) can relate to. I'm sure most of us have been in Becky Miller's shoes in one way or another. 5/5 Stars!
