To be honest, when I received this book my first thought was it would have a very legalistic slant. I had a difficult time getting into it, and sad to say, I've been working on reading it for quite a while.
With that said, my first impression wasn't quite as right as I thought I would be. Likely, one of the main wrong things with the world today is the fast and busy pace in which we all live. If we don't take care of our spirit and our relationship with God, everything else will surely be out of whack. We have all experienced that phenomenon. We need some time to recharge, but too often we don't get it.
I think Mr. Buchanan gives a very good perspective on the Sabbath and the reader definitely comes away with something to chew on afterward. I plan to reread this book without my preconceived notion about its contents. I believe I will be able to glean more from it the second time around.
