Raising Maidens of Virtue

Raising Maidens of Virtue, by Stacy McDonald, was written to help mothers teach their teenage daughters how to think biblically. Some of the topics covered in the book are purity, modesty, contentment, idleness and more.
The chapter "The Fence Dwellers" was sent for review. Included in this chapter are a prayer, Scriptures, questions for discussion and a story about a Gardener and His plants. The story tells about how the flowers near the edge of the beautiful garden wonder what it would be like to be smooth and strong like the rocks, on the other side of the fence, in the quarry. The story continues as these wayward flowers try to emulate the rocks and how their actions affect the rest of the garden plants. Thankfully, the Gardener soon comes back on the scene and the plants of the garden, who belong to the Gardner, listen to His Words, finding joy and life again. Sadly, the wayward flowers near the edge of the garden and the stones in the neighboring quarry find only desolation and death.
If the remainder of Raising Maidens of Virtue is as well written as the chapter that was submitted, it is definitely worth considering as a bible study for a mother and teenage daughter.
