Princess Madison and the Royal Darling Pageant by Karen Scalf Linamen
Reviewed by Amy B
This is a cute story based on 1 John 3:1, and geared toward kids ages 3-8. Princess Madison doesn't look or act like a typical princess. Her older sister, Evangeline, does her best to convince Madison that she isn't one.
Poor Madison resigns herself to the fact that she isn't a princess after unsuccessful attempts to prove otherwise with a frog and a pageant. However, in the end, her father points out what makes her a princess isn't what she does, but her relationship with him.
The beautifully illustrated book is a great way to teach and remind kids that God is our Father, that we are His children. Once we choose to have a relationship with Him that is what makes us who we are.
