Plague Maker by Tim Downs

I must say, this novel grabbed hold of my attention right from the very beginning. All I could think as I neared the end of the first chapter was "Oh, no. What has he done?!?" I knew that if the remainder of the book was as good as that, I wouldn't be disappointed.
One of the main characters of the story, Nathan Donovan, is a rugged and generally explosive FBI agent whose current mission is to locate and stop a potential biological terrorist attack against the U.S. He is forced to seek assistance from his ex-wife and in doing so, also eventually comes to term with the tragic reason behind their divorce. Another entertaining character is the very interesting and likeable source that provides Nathan with the history behind the terrorist he is trying to find. You can't help but like Li. Sometimes obliquitous, sometimes direct, he sure has a way with our rough and tough FBI agent.
There are hair-raising moments, some touching, loving moments and everything in between. I think the story is nicely told and the personality of each main character is developed well. There were surprising developments throughout the novel and I'd be surprised if anyone would guess what happens at the end.
