Mother-Daughter Duet by Cheri Fuller & Ali Plum
Reviewed by Rachel
I have yet to hear of a mother-daughter relationship without fractures; whether these fractures appeared during childhood, or ruptured during tumultuous teen years, or formed upon dear daughter leaving the nest. Perhaps a mix of all three?
Mother-Daughter Duet is about coming to a place of mutual respect and understanding. In it's pages are healing salves you and your daughter (or daughter-in-law in many cases) can apply to establish a healthy adult friendship. Written by a mother and her grown daughter, it contains practical advice alongside Cheri and Ali's real life mother-daughter story. It's rare I read a book that intertwines a true narrative of it's wisdom being put into practice, and I believe that feature increases the likelihood of it's lessons being applied by readers. I also believe that God will use Cheri and Ali's work to strengthen many mother/adult daughter relationships. I can guarantee I'll be sharing this book with my own sisters and mother.
