Life Interrupted: The Scoop on Being a Young Mom (Mothers of Preschoolers (Mops))

Reviewed by Amy B

We started our family a little later in life than many parents do. I was 29, and my husband was 34, when we had our first child. We were five years older when we had our second child.

As challenging as it has been for us, at times, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for teenage moms. Especially teenage moms who end up without the emotional, financial and physical support of their parents or their babies' father.

The appropriately titled book, Life Interrupted, gives young moms advice, encouragement and real life stories shared by other young mothers, including the author Ms. Goyer.

Tricia Goyer writes about the importance, identity, growth, intimacy, instruction, help, recreation, perspective and hope of all mothers. Although all of these topics are relevant, my favorite chapter is about hope, the hope we all have in Jesus Christ.

The book ends telling young mothers about who Jesus is and about having a relationship with Him. We all wish young girls wouldn't be doing anything to get pregnant in the first place, but it happens. This book would be a good resource for any teenage girl, who discovers her young life is about to be "interrupted."
