House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker

"House" is another really good piece of fiction I found hard to put down. I finished it within a day by staying up late one night. From the very beginning you get the creepy feeling I would expect from a good supernatural thriller.
A couple, Jack and Stephanie, have a run in with a very strange patrolman, while getting lost and ending up out in the middle of nowhere in rural Alabama. They end up in an accident they suspect may not truly be an accident, and of course, no cell service to call for help. Setting out on foot, they come across the charming and inviting Wayside Inn.
Randy and Leslie, another couple they encounter at the inn, have had a similar experience. That is where the real adventure begins. The quirky family that owns and runs the Wayside Inn adds a little humour to the story until the terror of their reality starts to unfold.
They all find themselves stuck as players in a deadly game orchestrated by a notorious serial killer. By the end of the day, they have to give the killer one dead body by dawn or they all will die.
I haven't read a lot of Christian thrillers so I don't know what the gore content generally is. But "House" is a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat without the gore. Excitingly, it is being made into a movie and due in theatres in 2007.
