Christian Mommies Hot Picks
Here are some trends making the rounds on the forums.
[These have been tested and approved by members! These companies aren't paying us to mention them. They didn't even send free samples, unless otherwise mentioned. They are entirely member recommended!]

Monthly Cups TMI Alert (males, hit back now!) Want to go pad and tampon-less? Using a cup? It's frugal, and it's not as messy as it sounds. Check out the Diva Cup (Canadian co.) or The Keeper (US).
Warm Fuzzies Wonderoos and Fuzzi Bunz, but especially Fuzzis, make the top picks for cloth diapering! We have quite a few experienced cloth diapering moms on the forums, with loads of advice. Plus, they all seem to be in agreement about what works!
Magazine Rack Magazines we've been featured in: Christian Parenting Today, ParentLife. LifeWay (ParentLife) sent me a stack of their mags, including devotional magazines. I enjoyed them all. So did hubby, and he's a hard sell!
Popular Authors Favourite authors (2 or more kudos from a poll!) Francine Rivers, Frank Peretti, Ted Dekker, Tracie Peterson, C.S. Lewis, Philip Yancey, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Lori Wick, Karen Kingsbury, Jane Austen You can shop through this link to buy their books, and we'll get a small percentage of your purchase.
Giving | Sowing Organizations we support include: witforjesus.org, compassion.com (.ca), bibleleague.org (.ca), Arab Vision, Dorcas, Heifer, Living waters, VOM (.ca) -- we encourage giving over excess spending. You'll feel better about these purchases afterward too! Check GuideStar for information on organizations (like where the money goes!)
Sharing Hope Way of the Master is a hot pick at C'Moms, because we want to encourage all Christians to share their hope in Christ using the unadulterated Gospel of Christ. We recommend the book too! You can find it at low cost, used, on Amazon! Speaking of WOTM, feel free to forward this: The Good Person test.
Word Minded Sword Searcher is the favourite Bible software in our house. It has a ton of features too. Hubby bought a copy for my Dad last Christmas, along with a new edition for himself! Here a similar product that's free: E-Sword. They both come highly recommended!
Modest Dress Ultra-modest dress, and possibly headcoverings to boot! While it's only a fraction of us, some have decided to wear mainly dresses (the most "feminine" and non-revealing clothing they can find!) I'm considering it. We all [who've spoken up] believe in modesty and femininity, anyway. Thankfully, God kept His dress code very simple (Titus 2, for instance), so that the standards for most mature women's clothing from most cultures are fine by His Word! Thankfully most women have a built in common sense about modesty. That's why I added "ultra" and didn't use the word "only" in this hot pick, because we're not here to nit-pick. This one boils down to where the Spirit leads you specifically, even if it's into sackcloth, though I haven't heard of that one happening lately! (Cmomism: we're anti-nit-picking. For example, we have AP moms and moms who adhere to some facets of Babywise! Yes, they can exist in one place and not go on self righteous tirades! Hallelujah!)
Hair Club Lately we've been replacing shampoo with "natural" concoctions. Join the forums to participate alongside other hair care experiementers! |
