I don't have any secrets but I am right there with you. My three year old starts soccer on the 11th and between gymnastics and ballet I am not sure how I will survive. She is only in preschool so I don't feel guilty about her being in so many activities. I have discovered the secret of keeping a good book on hand and sneaking in a few moments of reading time during practices.

If you are referring to meals and working around soccer games, lots of soup and sandwiches and crock pot meals! Amazing how soccer can totally change the schedule of a household. I always try to remind myself that it is only for a season (it won't last forever), the kids won't starve on sandwiches, and this is for the kids. Relax as much as possible and enjoy the game. My son likes playing in goal. I think it's more stressful for me than it is for him. Ha, ha.

well not a soccer mom, but a swim mom. All three of mine take lessons and the oldest is in competitive swimming. And then there is also the recreational swim times.( we go at least 1 time a week as a family) we spend alot a time at the pool. as others have said, crock pot meals and meals that are easy and less time consuming are great.

we usually have a light meal right after school, then get all homework done, then relax a bit - game days are days when we watch movies or play games together. Then we go to soccer, then have another light meal. Sometimes if the boys do well, I just take them for fast food.
Last year was nice because there was a playscape right by the soccer field. I hope this year is similar. and yup, I have 2 boys on 2 teams. I make sure to keep my pocket calendar with me at all times and I write everything in there to keep myself organized. |

Well we decided against soccer this year after much thought. We are going to get DD a soccer ball and goal for the yard to make sure that it is something she really wants to do. She has never played before...only watched...so we want to make sure she will really enjoy it before we commit the busy schedule and dishing out the money. I'd say just relax and keep lots of quick meals on hand...and yes, I would use the crock pot lots too. Get creative!
