Default Tuesday - first day of school

Tuesday is ds's first day of school and he will be in 2nd grade. he will just have 1/2 day that first day and then the rest of the week will be full days. he's already met his teacher and we've gone over names of kids (and pictures from yearbook) that will be in his class. He thrives on routine and with it being the first day he will be a bit "panicy" not knowing what's going to be happening. Please pray that he has a good first day and a good rest of the school year. He has some social immaturity issues and hasn't been able to really make any friends so I'm praying for some good friends for him this year.

I am taking him to school the first day and had planned a sitter for 4 yr. old ds but it didn't work out so I'll be gettting 4 yr. old out of bed and putting him into the van to take his brother to school and then we'll do some errands until time to pick him up.

I'll be praying for your ds. That first day of school can be very hard on little ones. Hope the school year goes great! Stephanie

Janell- I hope your son's first day of school goes well.

I'm feel the back to school jitters myself tonight. Mainly for my oldest who will go to Middle School. We've reviewed his schedule tonight and looked at the school map to review where all the classrooms are. He's recited his locker combo. to me a million times this week. But still.....Is he ready? Pray! I must cover him in Prayer! I feel like I'm sending him into the Lion's Den.

I'll be anxious to hear how your son's day went. Let us know how he did.

Thanks everyone, it went very well. He wasn't acting panicy at all. I told him goodbye and he was like bye - no clinging, wanting me to stay, etc. which was great! Starting tomorrow, his carpool will be picking him up and taking him to school so hopefully that will go okay (same as last year). Thanks for all the prayers. Younger ds was great too, we got to school early and I put his clothes on him in the van and after we left school we did some errands before coming back to pick older ds up.
