Default Do you remember the Boxcar Children?

Brett and I are about to finish reading #1. It has brought back memories from my childhood. I love to read and am trying really hard to instill it in Brett. I bought the entire set from Ebay.

We have the WHOLE set as well. Dd and Ds read them in the 2nd or 3rd grade, I forget, but anyway, they are in our "keepers" box, maybe one day I can give them to the grand babies!

That is exactly what I was thinking. I also have the whole set of Magic Tree House books that I want to hang on to.

The first Boxcar book was the first book Scotty ever read by himself. Brings back very fond memories. Around the second night he had been reading it, I let him stay up extra late reading in bed, and when I went to tuck him in and take the book away I found he'd fallen asleep with it on his face. He said these words in his sleep as I took the book away and I'll never forget them... "It's so good, I can't put it down." Aaaah... sweet words, indeed! We have the full set, also, and all my kidlets have read and love them.

I read a book about kids in a boxcar when I was in elementary school. I think in the end of the book, the kids parents or someone brought the boxcar home for them. I could be remembering wrong. I remember liking it when I was a kid. Also loved How to eat fried worms.

I loved them too! I remember checking one out from the library and how worn out the book was. My Mom got me a few of them that I will share with DS one day.

Oh yes, though I am vague on the stories. I have a picture of my 3rd or 2nd grade self giving an oral report on a boxcar book.
