Default Will she be big?

I have a feeling Sophie is going to be 9lb something. Abby was 8lbs 3ozs. I've had a lot more discomfort in the pelvic/pubic area this time and it started much earlier. And she is low down... I can feel it LOL
I had my appointment with my midwife on Wednesday and she said Sophie is measuring 1cm bigger than what is usual for 31 weeks.

WDYT?

I just hope she isn't any bigger than 9lbs something.

Renee are you having another ultrasound? Perhaps they will be able to tell more closer to your EDD? You could always request this and I am guessing if they think she is BIG-BIG they may give you another U/S anyway to assess you both???

Did the midwife say you were having a pelvemitry or anything?

I am KICKING myself because I had a short U/S last Wednesday and I forgot to ask how big my baby is - Matilda also tends to be down low too and she gave me such a thump in the ribs last night I felt winded, I felt like she was in my lungs.

My twins were pre-term so they were scrawny with no fat tissue on them, so it will be "different' having a bigger bub who fits into clothes the moment she is born LOL (if only I had've known to buy baby born doll clothes for the twins even 0000 was too BIG).

LOL am I the only one who is excited about having a "bigger baby".

I have had much more pressure and am carrying much lower this time around. The Dr. even said wow you are carrying low, but according to ultrasound this baby is smaller than Ben. At 32 weeks Ben was estimated at 5 lbs and 2 weeks further along, he was born two weeks early at 7 lbs 12 oz. At 32 weeks this one measured only 4 lbs, but to my body he feels much bigger due to the fact that he is so low.

Your extra pressure could be due to the fact that this in not your first, thats what my Dr. said, he said a third will be even worse. If you can request another ultrasound at no extra cost that might help relieve some of your anxiety about a big baby.

I would love to have an average sized baby, but I don't think that's very likely.
It's possible my MIL was over 9 lbs and all three of hers were exactly 7lbs or under.

My younger sister was over a pound smaller than I was. The doctor told the nurse to weigh her again because he couldn't believe she was smaller LOL
But then I was 25 days overdue and my sister was only 2 days overdue... so that could be why.

Anyway, I don't think I can get any more free U/S unless I go overdue like last time. They don't do more than one here unless there is a good reason for it. Like if the tech cannot see the heart properly (which happened to us this time) or if you go overdue. Or for something like a breech baby .. to see if they are still breech KWIM
So that is a pain... I would like to see how big she is.

What is a pelvimitry?? No she didn't say anything about that.

LOL Well your twins were preemies so that's understandable! Even Abby didn't fit into 000 clothes when she was born. I was told by everyone to not buy newborn (0000) because they might not fit her especially if she was 8lbs or 9lbs. My mum said I was going to have an 8lbr and she was right. She told me not to buy newborn and so I bought 000 only. Well I put Abby into a 000 onezie with the legs and feet and long arms and I couldn't even put her legs into the legs of the suit because they were too short LOL I mean Abbys legs were too short that they didn't fit into the legging part of the suit. LOL So she fit newborn size after all...
I don't have much 0000 clothing from last time but I will definitely be taking newborn size clothes to the hospital... I will put a 000 outfit in my bag but I doubt baby will fit it.

Well, everyone told me too not to even buy the 0000 with pre-termers LOL - but like my midwife said "well they have to wear something"

Plus I have friends who aren't done reproducing yet, so I have kept ALL my 0000 stuff and will pass it onto friends when i am done.

You know, even preemie clothes were too big for the twins. Paris was so tiny the nurses nicknamed her "Dot".

A pelvemitry is simply when they measure your pelvis to see if the baby will go through....

Usually too in Australia they only do the necessary minimal ultrasounds, I just happen to have an obstetrician with a mobile u/s machine in his rooms.

Ah ok.. no the midwife hasn't said anything about measuring my pelvis. I doubt it will be a problem though... I pushed Abby out naturally and had no tears even! And she had a BIG head too LOL She was 8lbs 3ozs. As long as Sophie isn't 10lbs I'm sure I will be ok. I think I have a big pelvis....

You are lucky your OB has a mobile US machine! That's so cool.
My midwife doesn't even have a US machine. Just that thing to listen to the heartbeat with.

My midwife had a good feel of the baby on Wednesday and she said "...it's a small baby, I am guessing about 6 pounds by delievery" awwwwwww so cute and so little. I know these things are never 100% but I am having another comprehensive scan at 32 wks so they should be able to give a bit more info then.

mmm better buy more 0000, I have mainly 000

Yeah I have mainly 000 too.

I am guessing your baby will be 7lbs something because they put on like a whole lb in the last 4 weeks

I am thinking Sophie will be 9lbs something.
