That little tug...

for months now I've been craving another child (sounds horrible, but it's true)...I feel this strong tug on my heart.....but with everything going on...I just don't really know what to do about it. I've been crying out to God to just take this desire away from me.....and still it remains. I try talking with Bill about it...but he just doesn't know what to think about anything...half the time he's all about having another child, the other half is all about how we should wait...and I know that we should...but why the tugging on my heart? Has anyone ever gone through anything like this? I mean, not really trying to conceive...but just feeling that pull to?

I definitely have gone through the same feelings for over a year! DH would say it wasn't the right time or he wasn't ready. It was really hard for me to submit to that!! I see now that God was using DH to help me to learn to be content.

The verse in Song of Solomon comes to mind...something about "do not awaken love before its time". I know this is referring to an intimate love for someone of the opposite gender, but I think it may in some small way be speaking to us too. I don't think it's wrong to deeply desire another child, but if we put it in the context of "God, I really would like another baby, but I realize your timing is best" then I think that's how we can both express our desires to God and submit to his ultimate authority at the same time.

I soooo know what you're going through!! Stay strong, sister!!

I can remember delivering a baby and saying right afterwards, "I think I'd like another one!" I think the "tug" is just a normal, maternal feeling and not necessarily indicative that you should have another baby. Of course, it may also be God's voice, but He will lead through your hub (or surprise you both ).

first of all *smooches* -the feeling just down right stinks and I'm sorry it's just one more thing to add to the rest of a struggling time.
that said, I think madre is right- it's just how we can tend to be wired=) I'm already planning #3 and #2 is still inutero so, you think you're a freak?- I got you beat=). I agree too that you'll get one if you're ment to- reguardless of the other circumstances of life and even sometimes if you're trying to prevent it. -prayers for you=) -ren

Bill and I had a really long talk and he says that he wants to try...seriously... I'm kinda. Obviously, even with trying it's all up to God...but Bill says that we're ready...I haven't ever seen him so serious about anything like this...so...I guess here we go......
