EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetic (sunscreen, etc) Database
I'm sure many of you know of this site already. But I just found it and am loving it!!! It gives ratings on TOOOOOOOONS of products we use daily (shampoo, baby wash, sunscreen, make up, etc) on our bodies. I'm looking for a good sunscreen for the summer and I will be referring to this site for sure. I'm pretty sure we had a thread here regarding sunscreens. I had NO idea I needed to think twice about so much of this stuff before I came to this site. Ya gals sure have taught me a lot!! Anyway, hope it's helpful. I had fun checking the things I use already. Glad to see they're not horribly rated but I will be looking for alternatives when I buy next.

I have a bottle of some brand yet to go thru, and don't want to look, hehe.
Does anyone make their own suncreen? Is it possible? That and makeup are the two things I haven't "switched over" to natural products on. Doubt I can afford the make up so it may be my one exception/chemical indulgence. I am tickled to have found Swanson http://www.swansonvitamins.com/ where everything natural-like they do have is eons cheaper than local stores... the only online store I haven't banned myself from  .

I love this site- but at first found it very overwhelming when looking at the quality/riskiness of many of the products in my home- I have been changing over and eliminating many over the past 2-3 years.
Very helpful.
