Default Dehydrated Fruits & Veggies??? (Gerber)

I was wondering if anybody had any info on this? I saw the packaging all over the baby aisle! Dehydrated strawberries and bananas, even veggies, all for toddlers; does anybody have any opinions or info on this? It's fairly new to me. Thanks!!! ::hugs::

If you're referring to the Gerber graduate pre-packaged dryed fruits/veggies....the're awesome! A healthy and non-messy snack that my toddler still loves! Same basic idea as drying fruits and veggies yourself, only an easy alternative if you don't have the time to do that like me! ...or the cooking skills or equipment either! LOL

I know nothing about the product..just, as with anything I feed here...check the sugar and sodium content.
Those things can be made *without* extras, but whether Gerber does or not, is an entirely different thing.

Yeah... I kind of use the rule that if *I* wouldn't eat it, then I won't give it to them... baby food included...

Although, I'm not a picky eater, so....... I do give them the Gerber finger foods puffs (the little star shaped cookies); they are a great starter and they have NO sodium and the sugar is really low. They love them! I was just curious about the dehydrated stuff; my mom told me that my sister is giving her one year old the dehydrated fruits and veggies, and I was curious about nutritional benefits. Thanks for the posts ladies!

Justice loves the pineapple/banana ones, they really are freeze dried 100% fruit, no added sugar, no sodium. I just grabbed my bag from the kitchen. With just 1/4 of a cup of the fruit it is a full serving of fruit. The nutrition value isn't as high as if you had fresh fruit. The vitamin C content is 6% and the potassium is 120 mg of the bag I have. So, it is a good snack I think, but shouldn't replace having fresh fruit.
