We have an appointment with a specialist next Wed. and dh is balking at the idea of having to do another semen analysis and getting blood work done...
I'm going to ask my doctor to fax the last analysis to the specialist so hopefully he won't have to do that again, but he's never had blood taken before, and did I mention he REALLY dislikes doctors? Not that he's afraid of them, but he hates the fact that they make themselves sound like they know exactly what they're doing when in fact they're guessing just as much as you and I are... at least that's his take on it.
Will you pray with me that either he'd be willing to continue taking the next step in this infertility process, or that I'd be willing to accept his decision not to. As that will, of course, affect the way we start our family - will it be naturally or through adoption?

Okay. Period any day now! I'd like to say.. Clomid could work right away! Which, sure, it's possible. But I think I've been telling myself not to get excited for so long now, it's programmed into me. I asked hubby what he thought of the name Samuel.. so there's a hint of anticipation. It's been a ride for him all these years too, sometimes I forget that.

So dh and I had another good talk tonight...

He's still not willing to do blood work (yet) and now I kinda agree with him. The reason the clinic gave us for doing it was to check for STDs and HIV. Well, then I guess there really is no reason to do it! Neither one of us has been exposed to stuff like that or have had other partners, and the last specialist I saw 2 yrs ago never asked us to do it, so I think this is just what 'this' clinic does, kwim?

I guess I was hoping that with this appointment he'd come out of what seems to be a shell, but he made it very clear that it will take him at least a year of talking about everything before he'd even be willing to try IUI. I'm willing to accept that. At least he's not just outright refusing. Sigh...

I'm praying for patience. (And yes, I know that can often be a bad thing to pray for... )

Well, we go for our first appointment together EVER on Wednesday, and I'm super excited! And nervous... Can you tell? I'm up at 11:30 on a Monday night!

I still have to find dh's health card, print all my charts from the last 2 years (eek!) and call them about the blood work thing. I'm really praying this all comes together as I'm also planning our Women's Christmas event for Wed night, and attending an all-day workshop tomorrow for work...

I'll try and update as I can.
