Lightbulb Lets name this kid already!

Ok, so Gunnar is out, mostly (I spelled it wrong in the first post, LOL, so apparently it wasn't meant to be his name!

I was content with that if that is how the Lord led my husband, but it wasn't my favorite. When Dh and I talked the next night, he said he had been thinking about the name all day at work, and it just didn't seem to be the right name. So, we started talking more about names.
I love the name Zander...I like the Z spelling, Dh like the Xander spelling. We talked about naming him Alexander and then I can call him Xander and Dh could call him Alex or whatever. I told Dh, I would let him have the middle name of Saban (yes, the Nick Saban for those of you who know sports) if he would give me Xander. I would even give up the Z and go with the X. Negotiations are on......it takes us a while to agree with each other, but it's fun to do!
There has been no official decision made yet, but I "see" this little guy as Xander now, and have actually used that name a few times when talking to Dh...

If Dh had his way this baby's name would be NickSaban Bearbryant E. LOL Ok, so my husband doesn't want to use my Grandpa's name (Guy) anywhere, but he would name our son after two college football coaches/players, who he has never met, and one is still alive and could end up doing something really bad and our poor son would have to live with that legacy his whole life. When I told Dh this and how silly that was, he just laughed and said I had him there.

I wonder if I could sneak Guy into his name after Saban.....Vannah has four names, why not this kiddo?

So this is where we stand. We don't care much if a name is popular or trendy at the time, Emma was the most popular name for years while and after we named Em that, but we go with what we like and what seems to fit.

Have a most blessed day!
Amber

I like Xander with an x lol I named all my boys lol dh was ok but not really so I told him to pick names and we discuss but he wouldn't so their names stayed he did ok at delivery because he didn't have any names except the one I chose lol but all fit except Jeremiah I always felt his name should of been isaac but dh no on Isaac and said Jeremiah, but dh refuses to search names so I am always by myself on naming our kids which is frustrating anyways I like the Alexander compromise and saban is nice I like usually names

Thanks gals, I love to hear other's thoughts. It's fun to name, and it's fun to see who likes and who doesn't like. My really good friend Stacy, she was actually the one who posted on here for me when Noah died, but she is a Texas fan, and didn't like Saban (pronounced Say-Bin) because it's the name of the couch of her rival Alabama! Ha!!

We don't have any others that I know of. I made the comment that Gunnar was out, and Dh said "since when was Gunnar out?" Um, since you said you didn't like it anymore for a name....ha! Silly man!

Jen, I like Marshall, but not a fan of Virgil....but I would love your Virgil if you had one.

Dang, Dh went to bed before I could ask him if he was ready to commit to a name yet.....~sigh~ maybe tomorrow!!

Blessings,
Amber

I'm so intrigued how our hubbies are so picky about names - I think it's kinda cute thought! Hubby talks about Elise ALL the time now... he helped coach soccer last night and there's an Alyse on the team (pronounced the same). He told me later it felt so funny to keep hollering at "Elise". lol

Anyway, back to you... I've always liked Alexander and hubby does too! I also like Xander. There's a girl that goes to mom's group with a 2yo named Xzander. Please don't do that... decide on X or Z but don't use both! lol but that's just my opinion

Poor kid!! I may give my kids way to many names, but never one with so many weird letters in it!
You know, before we had Em, or right after I had this vision of naming our kids with themes or picking names because of special letter meaning or whatever. That idea has TOTALLY gone out of the window. Starting with Noah!
So my name is Amber, Dh's is Chris and then we had Em. So you have A, C, and E. So the next logical in my mind would have been a G, so that didn't happen. Then after Emma, Noah, Makelah, I figured the next one (actually two) would have names with A at the end, or at least (uh) sound. Well, we got Savannah right, but then Dh went and liked Spencer. So now our girls all have (uh) sounds, and our boy has (er). I was looking for names that ended in er, so at least him and Spencer could have something you know? I am so happy Dh likes Gunnar or Alexander/Xander. It's probably totally geeky and maybe a bit weird, but I like patterns and really wanted SOMETHING cool to say we did with our kids names. LOL. Watch, we end up naming him George or something! Ha!

Blessings,
Amber

I'm totally a name nerd too...

I have this issue that we all have to have different initials in our family... if I want to put initials on ball gloves, etc then I want no doubt over whose it is! So for this baby, it completely ruled out J, M, B, N & S... So E is a go!

Also, our first 2 have the 'k' sound in them - Blake & Nicholas... then Sawyer and Elise have the 's' sound. No idea why I'm so picky about pairing them off like that... must be the ocd in me

Mine just have to come from the bible and their meaning must be good lol so I am not real picky lol (well ds4 middle name isnt biblical nor do i like the meaning but it was my late fil name and my husband requested it and since he never has a name picked out i went with it) if y'all go with Gunnar will the middle name still be Sabin? I think it fits if so Gunnar Sabin, it's strange how I nor dh like sports at all and we have 4 boys lol

My dh isn't into ballet and we have 3 girls!

Oh, I'm sure Dh won't budge on Saban. I'm sure if I really objected to it, he would respect that, but honestly, I really have not had any names jump out to me except Xander (well actually Zander). I have been so happy with the names we have for our kids, and Dh named the twins. I trust that the Lord knows their names, and Dh and I will come to an agreement when it's the Lord's time for us. I also trust that the Lord put my Dh as the head of our family for a reason, and if that means he gets to name this kiddo, it will be wonderful as long as he always seeks the Lord. I know his heart is for the Lord, so I trust that. Does that make sense?

I am just struggling with the patience part! LOL I want to call him by his name and know that's it! KWIM?

Blessings,
Amber

I must have missed the post that you are having a boy.. is it offically a boy? If so woohoo, i may have seen this and just forgot.

So as far as Z names go... my friend and her hubby named their little boy Zarron. Dad's name is Zack and her dad's name is Aaron.. kinda cool. I like Zander too but I am with your DH I like the X spelling better. I really like Alexander tho!
