Default Jehovah Mekaddishkem

Jehovah Mekaddishkem (Yahweh Maccaddeschcem) - The Lord our Sanctifier or the Lord Who makes You Holy.

The first thing I would just like to mention is that Jehovah is not actually a Hebrew word. It came later. The correct word is Yahweh. However, I will use Jehovah for familiarity.

The base Scriptures for this study are:

Exodus 31:13 - Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. (KJV)

Leviticus 20:8 - And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you. (KJV)

You know how I love to look up the words! Well, I was delighted by what this study brought to light!!

Sanctify - qadash (kaw-dash): make or pronounce as clean, appoint, consecrate, dedicate, keep holy, prepare, purify. To make holy. To purify or free from sin.

On the flip side...the thesaurus tells us that the opposite of sanctify is; profane, desecrate, pollute, and defile.

WOW! This is SO clear to me. Think about it...God has made us FREE from sin. He has set us a part as holy. Unfortunately, the enemy and the ways of the world are pulling us into the opposite direction. The enemy wants to pollute and defile our minds and he uses the wickedness in this world to do it.

Many of us do not even realize what FREE from sin means!

Well, let me share some more Scriptures with you to clarify it:

Romans 6:18 - And having been set free from sin, you have become the servants of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in thought, purpose, and action).

Romans 6:22 - But now since you have been set free from sin and have become the slaves of God, you have your present reward in holiness and its end is eternal life.

Galatians 5:1 - IN this freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery which you have once put off.

I Peter 2:16 - Live as free people, yet without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but live at all times as servants of God.

The word free in these Scriptures, even though they are Greek, have the same basic meanings! God sanctified us in the old Testament and through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ He Freed in the new Testament!

Free, Freedom, Freed - eleutheros (el-yoo'-ther-os) and eleutheroo (el-yoo-ther-o-o): In the absolute sense free. To make free from the power of sin. Deliver.

Ladies, we are NO LONGER bound to sin. It has NO authority over us...UNLESS we give it authority. The enemy would love to keep us in the dark and continue to use this world to pollute our minds and hide the truth from us. Let's not let the little slime ball win!

We no longer need to be in addiction bondage. We no longer need to be bound by anger and unforgiveness. We are free! And, Whom the Son set free is free INDEED! (John 8:36).

Let's Pray;

Daddy God, Thank You for the gift of jesus Christ. Thank You for sanctifying me. Thank You for freeing me from sin. Thank You that I am no longer bound by the chains of sin. Thank YOU! Dear Lord, I ask that You help me to stand firm in this Truth...YOUR Truth. I ask for strength and wisdom in all situations. I ask that you help bring to my memory the Scriptures of freedom when sin comes knocking on my door. And, Father, I ask that you help me to get back up on my feet when I fail. You are awesome and Mighty. You are Worthy of all glory, honor, and Praise! I love You, Daddy! In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!

In His Love and Service,

Lara
