Ok I have not started temping yet but a few times have gotten some interesting fluid so I am wondering if my body is gearing up to begin ovulating again (or maybe it did and I missed it!)
There was no real ewcf but some of the thicker fluid that comes before that. If there is no ewcf but there is fertile-like fluid, should I start temping again? I am feeling so rusty! Also, I just saw the tail end of an episode of "I didn't know I was pregnant" about a woman who got pg while nursing and attributed most of her symptoms to breastfeeding and lingering baby weight and I was like, uh-oh! I hope that does not happen to me!

Yeah, Cham, I'm experiencing the same thing. I have just chocked it up to my body gearing back up for AF. After Eliya (#5) we didn't use any BC and I still didn't get pregnant until she was fully weaned (a couple months afterwards, actually), but I had AF at 3 mo PP. This time around, Wyatt (#6) will be 5 months on the 19th of July and I haven't had anything but some mild spotting each month. ::shrugs:: I'd start temping, but I'm so lazy... I just keep telling myself, "I can't get pregnant, I'm breastfeeding!" But I know this isn't true. I'm interested to watch what happens with you, whether you're gearing up to ovulate or truly having a little fertile cervical fluid mishap.

Don't have a long time to type, but if you ovulate and don't get a menses afterwards, that means you're pregnant.
I would recommend starting to temp. (and abstaining appropriately if you're planning on avoiding pregnancy)

Okay, so that was the short answer. Here is the longer answer:
Your body can take multiple attempts to gear up to ovulate. You can have a patch of EWCM and not ovulate. In order to confirm ovulation, it is necessary to take temperatures. I ovulated at 13.5 months PP this time and I confirmed it with a temperature shift. It was really neat.
