If you read history you will find out that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next.

    ~ C.S. Lewis
"Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; the clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break in blessings on your head."

Do not worry; eat three square meals a day;exercise;go slow and easy. Maybe there are other things your special case requires to make you happy; but these, I reckon will give you a good lift!

    ~ Abraham Lincoln

I have not read through all these to see if this had been posted before but I like them.

    these are by C.S. Lewis

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."

"When you are arguing against Him, you are arguing against the very power that makes you able to argue at all."

And here is another I like

The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried. Quote by G. K. Chesterton

and one of my favorite parts of Robert Frosts poem

"I shall be telling this with a sigh, Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
    Dainelle

wife to my best friend Gus, mom to DS-Xavier and DD-Devon

These are wonderful, Dainelle. I especially like this one:

"When you are arguing against Him, you are arguing against the very power that makes you able to argue at all."
"Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; the clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break in blessings on your head."

Oh, Eva, I had forgotten that little song:

My Lord Knows the Way Through the Wilderness

My Lord knows the way through the wilderness

All I have to do is follow

My Lord knows the way through the wilderness

All I have to do is follow

Strength for today is mine always

And all that I need for tomorrow

My Lord knows the way through the wilderness

All I have to do is follow
Thank you for reminding me; singing it as I cook.
"Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; the clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break in blessings on your head."
~ William Cowper, "God Moves in a Mysterious Way"

    I thought this was cute:

    To keep your marriage brimming,
With love in the loving cup,
    Whenever you're wrong, admit it;
    Whenever you're right, shut up.

    ~ Ogden Nash
