I bet it is your mucus plug. Some people lose them a little at a time and some people lose them all at once.

OK, sorry if this is TMI:

I have a lot of thick, almost white discharge too... I doubt it is my mucus plug this early on. It comes and goes. I think it's just my hormones. It could be the start of your mucus plug coming out though, too. I would watch for any blobs or reddish tinge... w/ my first pg the mucus plug came out in a really clear, disgusting blob, all at once....

I lost my plug for about 3 weeks. Some days it was more than others but it was usually a clear, thick blob (eww) that had red or brownish streaks in it. I heard that it meant labor was right around the corner but not for me! Can't wait to hear when you go into labor!!!!

Hmmm... Jill described the mucus plug perfectly! The discharge you discribed Katie and Cheese is what my doc told me is hormone related. I lost my mucus plug with my 1st and it was clear with brown/red streaks in it! In my case... delivery was about a week or a little more later than when I lost it.

It's probably leukorrhea.....the odorless or mild-smelling milky discharge that you occasionally noticed in your underwear before you were pregnant. There's just a lot more of it now, partly because of increased estrogen production and greater blood flow to the vaginal area. This discharge is made up of secretions from the cervix and vagina, old cells from the walls of the vagina, and normal bacterial flora from the vagina.

I remember having it too, it's yuck, but just the way the Lord made our bodies protect our little ones! If it gets to be too much of an irritant, you could use panty liners, but that holds the smell too much for me.

    Blessings,
