HELP!! TEETHING

WHAT can I do for my poor baby. She has been teething. She is very fussy. She had a tooth break through on Tues and another one today (So now she has 2 teeth.) She doesn't have a full blown fever, but her temp. is higher than usual. She's extremely fussy and I've been having to hold her all day... she won't nap or anything. I've given her a cool teething ring and i've also massaged her gums with my finger, and let her nurse as often as she likes. What else can I do?

baby anbesol or orajel (it really works!).. teething tablets.. tylenol.. cold teething rings.. a cold wet wash cloth to chew on (my daughter's favorite)... best of luck!

Thanks for the advice. She finally passed out from exhaustion, so hopefully she will sleep a bit and give us both a break.

I will try the washcloth thing when she wakes up. And call DH and see if he can drop by the drugstore for some orajel or something on the way home.

thanks guys. The nap didn't last as long as I had hoped but the washcloth seemed to help. At first she was like "What is THIS??" lol but she happily chewed on it for awhile. Many thanks...

Teething tablets worked really well for my dd and now my ds. I like them because they are all natural and they work.

Hyland's teething tablets are what seem to work best for ds. We tried the Orajel homeopathic teething liquid but it doesn't seem to be as effective for him. The Hyland's tabs even bring down a teething fever within 15 min for him. They may not be as effective for every dc though.

I couldn't find any of those teething tablets at the store... they might not have them here... .we don't have a lot of things in town here... some things you have to go to the city for, and since we're so far north there's a lot of things that i can't find there either... like stuff i used to get in texas etc.

She's been less fussy though... chewing on her thumb and i let her chew on my finger and a damp washcloth, so she's better today. Yesterday she took a looooooooong nap because she was so exhausted from the day before, guess she had to catch up LOL

Glad she's feeling better today! It sounds like Mom probably needed the rest from that nap too!

Hyland's tablets work realy well, but they are hard to find here, so I usually take a damp rag and put a drop or two of essential clove oil, then dab his gums. For an adult you can use it straight, but its probably too spicy to use on a baby without diluting it in the wet rag.
