View Full Version : Baby Check In 3/3-3/20
savedbygrace 03-03-2009, 09:58 PM Hey Ladies anything new going on with your wee ones?
I just got back from a Washington. My sister went into preterm labor due to preclampsia.
The delivery was horrific, I don't even want to talk about it. I was fuming at those stupid doctors. But thankfuly the baby is fine and so is my sister.
I took Josiah with me and he was such a great baby. He did awesome on the plane and in the waiting room with my parents. We had to drive an hour and a half every day just to get to the hospital. He was so excited to be back home with Abby and his daddy *and so was I*
* 8monthsOld*
Josiah now has his top 4 teeth and his two bottom. I think he is teething some more as he has been recently been chewing on his finger. He rolls every where and scoots but still hasn't caught on to crawling. He can pull himself up for short periods of time.
Overall he's doing great!

This is Josiah and his little cousin, Julius. He weighed 4 lbs. 12 ozs. and 18 inches long born at 36 weeks gestation
BlessedMommy 03-04-2009, 12:07 AM Hey Esther, thanks for putting this up. I looked at it and then it dawned on me, oh, I have a baby now. LOL.
Micah is a complete and total opposite of Hannah. Honestly in the 4 or so days since he was born, his 2 1/2 year old sister has screamed more than him! He sleeps a lot, nurses well, and is a very laidback, peaceful baby.
ChamomileFriend 03-04-2009, 04:55 AM So sorry your sister had such a rough delivery. PTL she and the baby are alright. What a beautiful little baby he is! Praying her recovery goes well.
Josiah is adorable!
Glad Micah is such a good baby.
I was so sorry to read about your sister's delivery troubles on your blog, Esther. BUT, I am so thankful that she and baby are both thriving! Praise the Lord for that, eh?! :D I sure will be thinking of her~ I love the picture of Josiah and Julius, Julius makes Josiah look huge! Ha! Josiah is such a beautiful baby, Esther~ :)
Eliya is almost Eight Months Old:
She LOOOOOVVVEEESSS to stand up and hang onto things! She can stand on her own pretty well now, as long as she's got something to hold on to. She takes some steps around things but loses her balance pretty easily. I'm still impressed that she is even trying at this age... the rest of mine didn't walk until ten months or older.
She can't sit up, stand up or crawl on her own... but she is so very close to doing all three that I doubt it'll be long before she just stands up in the middle of the room and walks around. ;)
Her food interest is expanding... she likes to find crumbs on the floor and stick them in her mouth, she didn't do that up until just this week... she would play with things she found, but never eat them. Soooo... that means I MUST stay on top of my vac-ing or just not put her on the floor. ::snort::
She has her two bottom teeth and one of her top fronts are starting to come through now, they are taking much longer than her bottoms ones did to come through... and she's been very fussy because of them.
Eliya is still a very happy and content little baby and loves to be with Mommy. Whenever she's in pain (teething) she won't even let Daddy take her out of my arms... she's very much a momma's girl. ;) She's shy with strangers, meaning she won't go to people she doesn't know, but she will at least give them a smile~
She's nursing great, still and I hope that she nurses for quite a few more months!! :D
That's about it~ ;)
savedbygrace 03-04-2009, 12:29 PM thanks you guys.
My sister's L&D was horrific. Her doctor was out of town in India so she had a male (dare I call him a doctor) to fill in. When he went to break my sisters water, her eyes rolled back and passed out. The nurse called for extra hands and the Dr. was furious. "Diana, she's fine. what are you doing"? well later when the anesthesiologist came to giver her her epi, he told him" yah this one here is overly dramatic", Right in front of my sister and her husband. Now, I was not there, otherwise that Dr. would have heard it all from me, and my BIL and little sister are young (22 years old) and my BIL didn't want to loose his cool.
They had a resident that delivered the baby *they did not ask if this was okay with my sister* my sister was pushing and I was helping her stay focused. The epi didn't work on her because she progressed quickly just as I did with my labor with josiah. I look down and the babies head was half out! I told her and the next thing I know the Dr. says, "lets use the eternal vacuum" he then pushes the head all the way back into the canal, my sister screams, and he puts the vacuum on the baby, cuts my sister and then pulls the baby out! I was in so much shock I just stould there. I didn't understand why he felt that was necessary. Then the resident was trying to sew my sisters episiotomy and he kept messing up... the Dr was NOT listening to my sister yelling in pain. she looked like a guinea pig on a slab. It took them nearly 25 minutes to sew her up. she felt every stick and I did yell at the Dr. and I had to walk out. I couldn't take it.
But like I said, she is recovering nicely and the baby is now home with her. I got to help her with breastfeeding and pumping her milk. She is trying so hard to do what is best for her little boy. Anyhow, if you think of baby Julilus please pray for him. He still has a ways to go.
PianoMama 03-04-2009, 12:39 PM Shae is doing so many new things! She says "Mama" now when she actually wants me, not just to babble! And on Saturday she said, "Papa" for the first time. That is what our dc call dh instead of daddy. I love it!!!! She is trying so hard to say "uh-oh", but only says the 1st half, "uh uh uh" and never gets to "oh"...hehe!!!
She points now at people and things and is great with the pincer grasp and can pick up cheerios and puffs and yes, things on the floor like Eliya!! ugh - more vacuuming!!
One of my favorite things she does is 'dances' when we turn on music. SO cool!!! She gets a big grin on her face and bounces up and down holding onto a chair or something.
Last night she was practicing walking going inbetween dh and I taking 1 or 2 steps at a time. She loves to stand without holding on to anything...walking will be soon - AHHH!!!! :-)
Callum will be 5 months at the end of next week.
He is sitting on his own, and wiggling around in circles on the floor when lying down. (Baby breakdancing! Wheee! lol) He is reaching for things but is still trying to figure out how to hang on once he reaches it. He's nursing well and sleeping well. He LOVES his older sibs, but Liam in particular he just adores. [lovesmile] And....he is working his way into sz 12mth clothes. heehee. He's nothing if not consistent in the growing department. :D My avatar pic was just taken yesterday. :D
Katielady 03-04-2009, 02:21 PM [lovingsmiley] I love hearing about all your beautiful babies! Thanks for sharing with us!!!
pasloma 03-04-2009, 02:34 PM Thanks for opening the thread Esther :)
:)
Natalia already said her first word... and it was: "dad" ... that was last Wednesday 02.25.2009 ... it was amazing... I mean, come on! I am with her all day long saying: "mama, mama" (mom in Spanish) and she wouldn't say it... And then ... dh comes from work and says "dad, dad" and she goes "dad!" he he... dh couldn't believe it... and we didn't want to just assume she said "dad" so we encouraged her to say it again... and since then she keep saying "dad, da da da da da da" he he....
She is trying to crawl but she goes backwards LOL!
It's weird 'cause she sits up without any support (I mean... she doesn't sit up herself but If I place her somewhere she stays sitting and doesn't fall) she is really strong and tries to crawl but she doesn't roll... she's like "afraid of it" 'cause when she is going to finally roll she goes back to her tummy ... she's rolled some times already and I help her and show her she shouldn't be afraid... "it won't hurt" he he ... but as soon as she feels she is rolling over she goes back to her tummy he he
If I help her stand she will stay like that for about 2 or 3 seconds ... her legs take the weight very well and she can balance...
She has 2 front lower teeth... I love how she looks... he he
That's about it...
Hugs!
Paloma.
Proverbs31student 03-05-2009, 07:34 AM Rebekah is doing well. She'll be 5 months old on Tuesday. In the last week, we've noticed that her nearly constant fussiness is beginning to subside! It's so nice she doesn't cry all day long now. Over the last week, she has spent a lot of time giggling. After what we've been through, it brings tears of happiness to our eyes!
Even though she's still on the small side (11 pounds 9 ounces / 24-1/4" at 4 months), she has been eating very well. She took 30 ounces the last few days. We tried giving her some solids closer to 4 months, but it didn't go well. Since she's taking so much formula now and she's showing readiness signs, we may try again. If we're eating, she tries to grab our food, our utensils, and our cups. She'll even drink water out of a cup (she wears more of it than she drinks). She has been teething for months now. No teeth to show for it yet.
As for movement, she absolutely HATES tummy time. Needless to say, she hasn't rolled over yet. The muscles in her back are strengthening. When we recline her to give her a bottle, we can feel her trying to sit back up. She wants to watch EVERYTHING, so feeding her can be a challenge as she tosses her head from side to side. Sitting up by herself may come before rolling by herself.
Naps are still non-existent. With that said, most of her fussiness occurs in the evening since she's extremely overtired. She has slept through the night since 5 weeks, but she has started sleeping for even longer periods now (10-12 hours). We can't complain. We'll probably try some more nap training around 6 months (after we finish fixing up our new house and move in).
Well, those are the highlights. Here's a recent picture:

Ashlee 03-06-2009, 04:03 PM Azalia is 5 months old. She just started saying da da yesterday and she's sitting up on her own now. She is still drooling like crazy but no real sign of teeth. She's still unbelievably happy! We just had my sil here all week helping me out and she was shocked at how low maintenance Azalia is. Keep her fed and clean and she's all smiles, LOL. PTL!!
