Well, I finally found two combinations of CD's that will last all night! YAY! No more mandatory disposables! Here's my combinations:

1) A Bumkins AIO with a hemp doubler under the panel, on top of the panel a microfiber autotowel, on top of that a homemade Gerber stay dry liner.

2) A Fuzzi Bunz with a hemp doubler, two microfiber inserts, and the afore mentioned liner on top.

The doubler and the microfiber inserts(as well as the many layers of absorbency in the AIO) take care of absorbency and the liner helps her to feel dry. I will take out the stuff in the morning and most of it is very wet, but I don't have to change her for the whole night! Yay! If anyone else is trying to do 100% cloth, all I have to say is experiment, experiment, experiment!

By the way I purchased my AIO's and doublers from a WAHM in Lansing. So I actually got to see and touch them before I purchased and ask a lot of questions. It was so nice! :)

Rock on momma! ;)

If I had the money, I'd experiment. But I don't have the money to drop on individual diapers and covers. I know...the money I've spent on disp adds up and I could have bought some cloth, but, I can afford $6 a month. I cann't afford $12 for *A* cloth dipe (and that's a conservative figure LOL)

I'm jealous ;)

I'm proud of you for carrying on. So glad you found what works for you :D

thanks for the tips, my DH was about to flip on me because he saw me using disposables at night after i spent all this money on fuzzi bunz. I hated having to change her fuzzi bunz twice a night!! even with 2 liners in! she pees a lot at night... lol. if i skipped changing her twice then i would end up changing her diaper, her pajamas AND her crib bedding and having to wash the mattress liner with warm soap and water. ugh. In addition to cleaning her up. Sometimes i just threw her playpen mat on the floor with some blankets on top and had her sleep on that because I did not want to bother with the crib bedding at 4 in the morning. I did that for 5 days before going back to disposables at night. I will try different liner combos like you suggested :)

I have to say the most spectacular thing about fuzzi bunz is my dear husband who hates changing diapers now wants to occasionally (as long as it's not poopy lol) so he can pick out what color of fuzzi bunz goes next on her LOL!!! it used to be like pulling teeth to get him to change a diaper.

Anyway so awesome that you've got no leaks now... i feel a renewed interest in conquering that myself :)

LOL about your DH, Cheeseburger. The Fuzzi Bunz colors are great. And I love my Bumkins AIO's! One is in bug print and one is in a cute girly pink and purple print. Makes it fun to change diapers. LOL.

I would definitely recommend the hemp doubler. Those things are beasts when it comes to absorbency.

Ruth,
I noticed you're using th microfiber, just one suggestion, make sure you have something between the microfiber and her. They are SUPER absorbant and can lead to drying her skin out if right up against her.

just a suggestion though

Yep, Kana, I use a liner (not microfiber) on top of the whole thing. If I used just the microfiber, she would wake up in the night, crying to be changed. Thanks for the info!
