I am pleased to let you all know that our baby girl - Jenna Charlotte - arrived at 5:19am on November 2 - a few days overdue. However once she started, she was in a big hurry. I didn't have time to go to the hospital as planned and ended up having a lovely natural and rapid birth at home (the midwife arriving about half an hour before she was born). The speed was such a shock after having about 17 hours of labour with my first child. I only woke to contractions starting and waters breaking at about 3am - I had no sign of impending labour when I went to bed. Big 2 1/2 year old brother Joshua loves his little sister - and is very excitable at the moment. I'm hoping for some more sleep tonight as she wanted to feed every hour or two all night last night. More details and a photo coming soon - must go and feed her now.

Thanks for all your congratulations.

Here are some of the details I forgot to mention:

Length - 58cm
Weight - 8 pounds 3 oz (3.78kg) This was a really big baby for me to have (I'm 5 ft and have a fairly small build).

I was so pleased that I didn't even have to leave my little boy at all. In fact, he slept through the whole thing - and came to meet his sister when he finally woke up 2 hours after her birth. He was slightly confused about why I had been talking to him about going to hospital for weeks and never actually went. He also seemed to be trying to tell me today that Granny brought his baby sister here (I suppose it makes sense when he woke up to find both of them in the house).

I am also finding it amazing that my toddler can sleep through any amount of ear-piercing screaming from his baby sister in the middle of the night - what a blessing!

Photo still coming - I need to get hubby to put some on the computer.

Congratulations! Abby was 8lbs 3oz LOL And Jenna was 58cm??!! Wow she is really tall!!! I thought Sophie was tall but she was only 52cm. Abby was 50cm. Is your hubby tall? Paul is 185cm. I'm only 163cm.

I can't believe Joshua slept through babies crying when she was born!
I don't think Sophie has ever woken Abby up. But she is a deep sleeper and for example, right now there are Fireworks going off all around our house (neighbours) and both Abby and Sophie haven't stirred at all.

Have just posted photos in the photo section of the forum. Oops, I think the miswives made an error when they recorded her length as 58cm - we have since had a measurement of 52cm - and I don't think that she is shrinking  .

LOL Well then she is the same height as Sophie was! :D

I'm off to check out the photos.
