I had Matilda 5 wks`ago and while my weight has been shed my stomach is still up a little - after a caesar and non-b/f how long does a single pregnancy belly take to go down.

I know with the twin preg it took quite a while.

Well, I am breastfeeding, but it took me about 2 and a half months to not look pregnant, but my belly is still bigger than before being pg. It looks like I have no choice but to go do some kind of abdominal workout everyday. Well, I guess I do have a choice, I can look like a chubby frump or I can work out. It's amazing how appealing looking like a chubby frump can be when you are as lazy as I am LOL!! But yeah I am still wearing maternity shirts because my belly sticks out with all my pre-pg shirts!! LOL!! It's weird because I am back at my pre-pg weight, but my belly is HUGE! argh.

Anyway I would give your tummy some time - it's gone through a lot in the past 9 months. If in 2-3 months you are still not satisfied you might look into exercising the muscles there... every book i've read said you won't get pre-pregnancy shape back unless you hit the jackpot on the gene pool or you get into an ab exercise routine. It will 'go down' of course but it will still be poochy unless you exercise like a madwoman...

Even then your stomach will never be the same. The skin is the thing. And then gravity takes it toll on that stretched skin over time. I am thinner than I was BEFORE I had all my babies but my stomach...well it isn't what I would call frumpy...but it just isn't what it was before children. I do 120 ab sit ups with an ab roller 3 or so days a week before my biking( bike 1/2 an hour 5-6 days a week) It keeps it from "popping out" but it will never be pre pregnancy. That being said...give yourself time. It will slowly return with a moderate diet and regular exercise. :) Usually!

OH LOL yeah - I call my after twin stomach " a deflated souffle" effect LOL it certainly continued to pooch out after the twins and my skin oh dear... ever heard of TWIN TUMMY? And you know what  ? Exercise cannot get rid of twin tummy. That saggy skin (it's not fat or muscle it's pure stretched skin) is there forever.

DH humours me by saying "Women who don't have stretch marks aren't real women" LOL LOL.

Yeah my tummy is more like Cheeseburger described, still looks like the early stages of pregnancy - so perhaps more time.

I think too the souffle may be worse because of the prior caesarian scar being so tight and it developed into the Keloid scarring - my skin had to stretch in other directions to accomodate the baby (at least that was more or less what I was told)

Oh well, we can't expect to look like little girls forever LOL (and aint that the truth of what this youth loving society attempts?)

I am going to begin using a loofah on my ugly linea nigrea or however you spell it - eww vegemite stripe. I am suprised my kids haven't run up to me with a piece of bread and said "Hey Mummy give us some of the vegemite on your belly" LOL LOL :D  Another friend of mine didn't realise that could come off with a loofah and she was lamenting "When will the brown streak go away" you can even scratch it off with your fingers.

I didn't get any belly stretch marks when I was preggo, but my breasts really got stretch marks! Ick. DH tries to comfort me by saying that it will all go away in heaven. [rofl] We should be proud! These marks are badges that say that we gave life to a baby. :)

This is going to sound so gross but after I had Rhyanne I wore those "tummy tuck" pantyhose. If you wear them everywhere they cause your belly to stay in and so the sagging isn't so bad while you are recovering. It prevents the skin from stretching due to gravity.

How is that gross? I have worn those BEFORE i got pregnant to fit into a a size 6 dress when I was really a size 8 LOL!!

after being pregnant though i would be thrilled to be an 8 again... i do not think i will ever get there. My DH teases me saying he thinks it's cute that I am chubby now. However, I do not think it is CUTE at all LOL... even if I did get there by the time I did I would just be pregnant again

If only our society considered a saggy belly full of stretch marks some incredible sign of honor or something! LOL! Which it is in a way!

yeah it is an honour  - it defines GIRL from WOMAN in some ways (no and I don;t mean that in an insulting way by any means).

My friend told me her mum got TUMMY CONTROL UNDIES to wear after she had her, and she said too it "trained" her mothers tummy back into shape.

Go the muffin top LOL LOL.

My hips are still really wide too which is another reason why I cant get into my regular jeans.
