I was just curious, does anybody here know anything about them or used them before? I'm more and more interested in tracking ovulation and this fascinates me! I had NO idea that such things even EXISTED! Are they reliable? Are they accurate? This is so interesting~ I've always loved Science and Biology... (I wanted to be a nurse/midwife)~ Anywho... I was thinking about ordering some test strips, for my own tracking interest. Would somebody suggest a website to order from? Thanks in advance gals~ ::hugs::

Before I had my oldest we had been trying for about a year and not exactly "not" trying for a year before that and we had no luck getting preggers. I was starting to worry and bought an ovualtion kit and that month we got preggers. I felt like it was a help and it made it easier for me to gage where I was in my cycle on my own after that.

I LOVE the ovulation predictor strips! They are THE reason we got pregnant both times. I used this site- you can get a lot of them for a low price, a much better deal than those drugstore kits.

I have 3 little angels who are living proof that they work! :-D

I used them too! I was not temping when I was TTC; I was only watching CM. I decided to continue watching it while testing. As expected, right in the midst of my EWCM, I'd test positive for a LH surge. By the third month (when Rebekah was conceived), I was accurately predicting when I'd have a positive test (LH surge). I'd recommend them!

I found the 'ferning' method, useless unless you're really trained to easily read specimens that can be unclear much of the time.....strips are MUCH easier and are fairly accurate!

yes!!! OPK's are fun but can also make you crazy!!!(but still fun!) I also advise getting the strips online. much cheeper than drugstores! start testing a couple days before you think you might be fertile. you may want to test 2-3 times a day (thus, the crazy part! ).. I did, anyway.
your surge may come early, maybe late. you don't want to miss it!!!
you can also just watch your body. watch your CM. It will tell you a lot about your cycle! your body gives lots of clues. watch for them everyone is different. ex. are, ovulation pains, friskiness, headache, spurt of energy, vivid dream...etc. (you have to find yours)

I used the strips, the 'scrope, and the ov watch. Taking my bbt worked the best for me. However if you are bf and you are not getting 3 hours of consecutive sleep this is difficult. I'd recommend the strips. Just remember it gives you an estimated time of when you O'. So you BD everyday you have a positive.
It is really interesting isn't it? You'd love the TCOYF book, it informs you of so much more than just when you O'

Jen,

I used the Clearblue Easy OPK. It's the one that uses a smiley face to indicate a LH surge. I decided to pay the extra money so that I could have a clear "yes, you're having an LH surge" or a clear "no, you're not having an LH surge". I imagine that the ones with the lines probably work fairly well. I always seem to doubt myself. Anyways, best of luck with TTC!

Well not technically. We're not preventing and we're not shooting for O day. with my past of ttc I figure it wouldn't matter what WE do, it's what HE does. So if I got pregnant, I'd be happy! But if AF comes I'm not gonna get discouraged over it. KWIM?

Oh wow! That's awesome, Esther! :) What a great feeling, right? Just leaving it in *His* hands?! :)

I don't remember what the name of the kit was but it was more like a preg. test kind of thing(pee on a stick kind of things just like a preg. test). There were several in the kit and it told which days to try testing.

You know it really is a great feeling. I remember all to well how stressful and discouraging it was when I was focusing on ttc. It was hard. So it feels good to be at peace.
