Our preacher preached a very good message Sunday regarding the second coming of Christ. My daughter, who is almost 12, is a Christian and says she is ready for His appearing, but worries about her dog. (bless her heart, she's so sensitive) :(
What advice can any of you offer? I've told her that I think God will take care of the animals, but she reminded me of Hurricane Katrina and how so many animals perished or were seperated from their owner.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I don't have any ideas but my heart goes out to you. What a sweet, sensitive daughter you have! She has a big heart!!! :) I hope you can find an answer. Have you thought about taking her to talk to your pastor?

I told my kids that if God didn't have plans for the animals, he wouldn't have bothered having Adam name each and every one of them. Also, why bother with the arc, He could have just saved man, but He chose to have Noah build a huge "barn" for them. I have always believed God knew we would become attached to the animals. He gave us feelings in the first place--so after all this rambling, do you see what I am trying to say???? Have a great day! :D

I pray for mine to be watched after or go gently to rest, and hopefully to rejoin me in the new earth later on. Just have to put faith in Him. But here's a grown up who's thought about that too, with concern for pup!

It says in ,I think, Matthew that the Lord knows when a sparrow falls to the ground, so I think He will take care of them. Also He had Noah take some of them into the ark, and the Spirit of God descended like a dove so I'm sure animals are important to Him.

God is going to take care of the animals so well that when He comes again, they lion will lay down with the lamb. The animals will be so happy Jesus is here they will not even EAT EACH OTHER!! :D Has this happened yet? NO! so we know it will happen later. Isaiah 11. Many messianic prophecies talk about BOTH Jesus' first coming and second coming - Isaiah 11 is one of those....

I don't know about animals that would have died though. The bible says their spirits go into the ground while our spirits go up to God. So they aren't any more. Don't have any more details on that though. The animal spirits thing - It's in ecclesiasties. Did I spell that right? Has she had a pet die before? I know it's so hard on children, I had 5 cats as a little girl and of course one by one they passed away.

Not wanting to start an "What's going to happen in the end times" arguments just wanted to give you something that may encourage your child. I know some deny the 1000 year reign, but I believe Jesus is coming back to reign! I would encourage her to read Isaiah 11 and what that says about the animals making peace with one another under King Jesus.

I know not everyone agrees with this...but I honestly believe that all animal souls are in heaven! It says the lion and the lamb lie down together and I take the literal stance on that verse...as well as its translations for other things! God created each animal with such care and creativity and I believe that he tends their needs too and uses animals many times to do miraculous things like save lives...I belive he'll reward them with a place for their souls in heaven too with us!
