I thought it would be fun for us to reveal something about ourselves that most people would never guess or that might come as a surprise.

I'll start...
I worked as a commercial fishermen for 3 years. I worked on a shrimp dragger for 2 years and a troller for 1 year. I have fished for things such as sole, salmon, cod, halibut, shrimp, prawns, side stripes.. just to name some. I have got to see dolphins racing our boat, all kinds of whales, sea lions, flocks of bald eagles, and many more beautiful and amazing creatures. I have also experienced some scary storms and nasty weather, but I don't have a single regret, I loved my job!

Um...
I'm too boring LOL I have nothing exciting to put here.

I ride BMX, not racing (yet) but I ride around the track..does that count?
I've never had a job outside the home, so, nothing as 'surprising' as mentioned above ;)

Really, that's it. I've led a very boring life

Oh but...I bet everyone I went to school with would now be saying "I never would have guessed" about me becoming a Christian and marrying a preacher :D

Haha, thats one reason I started this thread, lol. You mentioned in other threads that you ride around the track and it came to me as a surprise. Its not too often you'd hear of a mom of 5 riding bmx! That doesn't sound too "boring" to me!

I used to be a Christian book saleswoman for the Bible story company. I'll bet that a lot of you own some of their books too--they're the big blue Bible books that you find in the doctor's waiting room.

Nothing special that's recent comes to mind, but to go waaaay back- in JH I was the fastest person in school and set multiple sprinting records. No idea if I still hold them. I'd still like to run here, but it'd probably be on a treadmill. I'm just not so sporty anymore, but was as sporty as possible back then-true tom boy.

Thats awsome! I ran in track and field but I wasn't much of a sprinter.. I did ok in the 1500m race. That really neat though Rach! I would have never guessed! :D

DH and I met at country-western dance lessons. Neither of us like that kind of music, and DH has no rhythm. You know God had to be in that...

I used to be a flight attendant. It was when I was 19 years old and I had no responsibilites. I worked for a commuter that partnered with TWA. Let see, up until I was 16, I was a ballet dancer. I hurt my back that ruined my dream of going to Juliard. Um, I am kickboxer. I have been taking it for about 5 years. Not the aerobics kind, the real stuff. I know how to sew, which is unusual since I am not very domestic in any other way. I spent my honeymoon in Italy. I have been to 25 of the 50 states. I am a huge history freak and a member of the history channel club. Guess I am not as dumb of a blonde as I look! LOL! Oh Yeah, and I can resite the entire movie, The Godfather. Not a very feminie movie, but I love mobster movies.

hmm.. i was the one in highschool that everyone said would get married first, have kids first, and be the perfect housewife (bake pies, etc.. ). i was the last to get married, the last to have kids, and worked full time until our first was born. i do like to cook.. that's about all that they got right :p

other than that.. hmm.. i met my wonderful husband on the internet - before the whole dating service frenzy :) .. but that seems to be more common these days, i guess.

I'm pretty boring.

I was a cheerleader in high school, on homecoming court, and I like guns. My dad sells them for a living (and safes and hunting stuff, etc.) and I grew up around them, so, I guess that's why.

That's about it. I'm just weird.

I'm sorry! I haven't babysat for a while now, but I would love to continue it!

I've written a few different poems that have been published...I love to write...it used to be really, really important to me...but now that I have a family, I don't really have the time like I used to.

Lori! I bet your DH is VERY happy that it's usually the wife that takes the husband's last name!

Hmmmm
someone said that we really don't know much about each other...so true!

Let's see...like others, I met my DH on the internet...I lived in WI, him in NM...I quit a job I LOVED to move 1700 miles to marry!
I was 39 when I married...
I'm a Computer Analyst...
I not only met Garth Brooks face-to-face, but chatted online with him and his brother for a couple of months years ago...

My son, Barret, was in the movie "Elizabethtown" as the boy on the blue bike (with the goggles and helmet)....and he met Orlando Bloom and Cameron Crowe (director). We spent several days on the set with them in Versailles, KY and Elizabethtown, KY.

Barret is also a musician, singer, songwriter, and card trickster :) He's had one of his songs recorded and is working on more.

I'll add another one.. its more of a brag on dh thing.. but what can I say, I'm proud of him! :D
Anyways... dh holds the teen world record for bench press in his weight division. He has aldult records for the state right now and is expected to break the adult world record very soon! He can rep the current record 3 times right now.. we just have to get to a weight lifting competition that will qualify him for the worlds. :D I wish the olympics would add more weight lifting events, right now they only have 2 or 3 and they are ones dh thinks are too hard on the body.

I'm a pretty good shot, when it comes to shooting targets that are not alive (I have never hunted nor do I have the desire to do so). I very much enjoy target/trap shooting with any type of gun, as long as the recoil isn't too bad.

My dad was a pilot in the Army, so I lived many places growing up. I lived in Germany from the time I was 11 to 15. My dad was stationed there again when I was in college so I spent 4 summers there during my summer break. I speak pretty good German, love the German culture, I have visited most European countires and hope I can take my family there some day. Interestingly, I came to know Jesus and give my life to Him in Germany. There was a youth group at the chapel on the Army Base. We had awesome leaders who were missionaries from Multnomah School of the Bible that came to Europe just to reach out to military families. I'm so glad they did!

I worked in the credit department at a Fortune 500 company for 14 years and loved to call people and collect money  . I didn't think twice about placing companied for collection when they gave me the run-around. I was very career oriented and wanted to be a business woman forever -- I was a hard nose! I've chilled alot since I had kids and don't think I could ever go back to that lifestyle again...but I guess never say never!!

Oh, also I have to eat something chocolate everyday (no pimples though!) and love anything do with financial planning!

I'm a nerd!

I also went to state swimming the butterfly in my relay team!! Sure wished I was still in that good of shape!!!! Before I had my dd, I was a computer technician....

i'm pretty boring, so i'll use a relative. :? hmmm. hope that's not cheating.
my dad has worked at the pentagon as an eletrical inspector for 25 years. as it happens he was supposed to be there on 9/11, but came down with a nasty cold and called out sick that same morning. he usually reports to work at 5:30 a.m. mon-fri and next to never calls out sick. God was definitely watching over my family that day! [weathersun]
