LOL We've had a big Dodge 12 pass (only had seating for 8 LOL) then SUVs. But... Are you talking new or used? How used? How many kids/seats do you need to fit on a regular basis? I'd recommend a Toyota Sienna, regardless. Nice vans. Quality. Ample seating. And from I think 2002 all positions have head rests and shoulder belts. (that's the child passenger safety geek selling point ;) ) The Toyota's 8th seat is larger than the Honda Odyssey's. But the Odyssey is also a nice van. As is the Hyundai Entourage or Kia Sedona. All rate high on crash tests. And that's all I got. No personal experience with any of them. The closest to 'experience' I have is our friends recently got a Sienna and my hubs used to sell the Entourage and Sedona :p doublewide 12-31-2008, 12:10 PM Ummmm I don't own a minivan. Never have. I dunno how many we're going to be blessed with yet, hopefully a van full  We test drove the Sienna for two days, but we brought it back yesterday.. We told them that we'd let them know on Friday. We looked at the Odyssey too, but DH saw the price and said NO WAY. :-D DH won't buy a Hyundai.. He's got political convictions against Dawoo and Hyundai.. kim 12-31-2008, 12:59 PM We just bought a Sienna ('04) in September and we love it! :D It's a 7 passenger. Lots of room for adults in the back with the kids and ample storage. That was a selling feature for us. The Odyssey didn't seem to have quite as much space in the back. That said, if we had found the awesome deal we got for the Sienna for an Odyssey instead, we likely would have bought the Odyssey. It looked like a good van as well. HTH ~Tara~ 12-31-2008, 01:25 PM The advantage I see of the Sienna over the Odyssey...is that 8th seat...the Odyssey's is smaller. It will fit a car seat. You can even fit 3 car seats in that middle row. But I hear it may not be quite as comfortable for an adult/big kid. The Sienna's 8th seat is nearly (if not so) a full size seat. But either way...great vans. They get my vote. Go with whatever you can strike a good deal with ;) kim 12-31-2008, 04:02 PM The advantage I see of the Sienna over the Odyssey...is that 8th seat...the Odyssey's is smaller. It will fit a car seat. At least for us. We tried to find one one, but there were none out there when we looked. *shrug* Tammyn4As 12-31-2008, 04:58 PM We have a 2006 Sienna and love it. We bought it back in the spring and it has been great. Husband wanted a Sienna because he loves his Camary. We test drove 06, 07, 08s and we liked the 06 the best. The newer ones were louder than the 06. And I think they just frive better. Godzgirl 12-31-2008, 08:34 PM I don't have a van but i used to have a honda odyssey in 2000 and i loved the room and it's features. It drove like a car. Got rid of it mainly because i was a 20yr old in a minivan.lol But if i had to choose a minivan now it would be the odyssey. danou 01-03-2009, 09:07 PM We have a 07 Sienna (7 passenger) and one of the features that we liked it for is the 2nd row capitan's chairs can go side by side. If you have carseats (particularily rear facing) it can be difficult to get to the back row. The feature I love best is the automatic sliding doors. The feature I would love to have most but don't want to pay that much money for is the automatic opening back door. JRBL 01-04-2009, 04:58 PM We have an 06 Odyssey, with the drop in 8th seat in the middle row. We fit a carseat and two boosters in the back seat, and could probably do the same in the middle row making it possible for us to have this van through one more addition to our family. I personally like the fact that the back row will drop down into the floor and you can pretty easily take out the middle row to have a truck sized stow space available. I also like the feature that makes it possible to move the middle row seats together or apart making it easier to carry extra luggage or long objects in the van. I also wanted to add that we average 24 mpg in the van... that's one of my favorite features too. The Sprinter (up to 18 passenger) gets about the same as the Honda Od! The automatic door open buttons have saved my arms MANY times as I usually have at LEAST one child in an arm and groceries or *something* in the other! But my absolute favorite thing about this van is......... it's a V6! It drives like my husband's S2000 did! It's awwwwwesome. I don't really enjoy driving but I enjoy driving our van! Anywho... it's a great van... but I think we'll be getting either a Sprinter or a 12 passenger after this one... we will definitely need more seating and storage space. ;) |
