What kind of car do you all drive? It doesn't come out until April but the new Kia Soul looks promising. It has extra cargo space, but small enough to still get 30 mpg. Any thoughts?

we won't do new cars here, value depreciates too quickly
we're better off used
I don't know anything about the Soul. Hubs not been on a car lot for a while now, so I don't keep abreast of such things. It does LOOK spiffy though.
I'm a big truck/SUV kind of gal, personally. We presently drive an Expedition. Had a Suburban before that. I'd take another burb in a heartbeat, or an Excursion. We have a lot of kids to haul around...then during racing season...a lot of gear! Then if my dd starts racing next season AND I get back into it, oh my...we need a trailer, honestly. But, as it is, we CRAM things in on and around the Expedition.
I like my space. I like my trucks. I like beefy. I like intimidating. LOL Guess I suffer from little man syndrome :p
And 4wd HAS been a necessity in the past. We could manage w/o it now though. Which could save us some $$ when we are ready to get out of the Exp...in a couple years yet.

We have a kia...sedona mini van...DO NOT BUY the first year model for any car from them...they typically work out a lot of the 'kinks' after the first year rolls out for new styles, our van was a first year (used though for us) model and the kinks that are a pain to us were fixed the second year they produced the sedona........
Overall though, our kia has done well with little to no work besides general maintance....just watch the weight of the car, the mini vans are almost a 1000 lbs heavier than any other model and while that adds to their high safety feedback, it gives it much worse gas mileage.
We never buy new here either due to depreciation...you lose like 6K just rolling it off the lot!

I drive an 08 Honda Civic. I love it, but it is small, but I can go FOREVER on a tank of gas. I always feel wasteful driving around by myself in a big vehicle.

I've had all sorts of vehicles but my current ride is by far my favorite - simply because it cost me $300 and is paid for!!! LOL!
It's ugly, it's old, but it's in excellent shape and it doesn't have a payment attached to it!

Okay, basically think "pimp car" and yep - that's mine!!! LOL!
Kia's are good vehicles though. Best friend has a Sedona and loves it. Good luck car shopping!!!

My DH is looking to buy a truck within the next year. Anyone have any suggestions for a good dependable one? We are thinking extended cab with a full size bed for hauling. ;)

I agree, Kia has made real strides in quality. The Soul comes with a 100k mile warranty, which also gives you peace of mind.

I currently drive a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. I had a 2006 Subaru Tribeca but chose not to purchase at end of lease. It was my first and last lease. We always bought new vehicles like every 3 yrs so I thought a lease would work. Too much headache at end when I chose not to get a new one under lease. I would have loved to purchase it but they wouldn't come off the price. I could go right down the road and buy its twin for $4000 less than the buyout price. Anyway, we moved to a gravel road so I refused to buy new. Dh had wanted a Tahoe for a while so when he agreed to go used with 50K miles, I said OK.
My best friend has a Kia Sportaqe and I love it! Her MIL went and bought one just like it.
I miss my 67 Camaro though!
