As I sit here perusing the forums of CMoms, there is a sly little smile on my face. Why, you may ask? [whatthink] Because the batteries are slowly dying in one of the most annoying toys ever created. [whatcrazy] I've waited months for them to go!! [whatheadagainstthewall] [shhh] They must be energizer. Note to self--don't buy energizer batteries for the annyoning toys. [whatnaughty]

Have you ever seen a baby furby run out of batteries ROTF ROTF.

They go crazy, like they are fitting or something - my kids absolutely flipped out when theirs died - their eyes began opening and shutting rapidly and their mouths were going like crazy too and they made low muttering sounds.

They ran out of their bedrooms at night holding the furbies going "somethings wrong! my Furby is broken" DH and I laughed so hard at the "dying toy's" until it began to bug us and DH threw the batteries in the garbage.

I can't say I miss the Chicken Dance Elmo... I can't stand Elmo -

I also sold the talking Blue from Blues CLues on Ebay, that annoyed me.
All it would do is say BOW BOW in varying irritating tones.

LOL! I totally understand your grief turned exhaltation! We have this blues clues fridge that when you open it and push the pieces of food, it says what it is in this CREEPY french accent and CREEPY laugh  ...of course, my son loves it! Reminds me of those killer clowns from the old horror movies! ugh! I pray everyday for that thing to die!

OH I am rejoicing with you! LOL

I hate noisy toys. I really really do. Anything battery operated seems to be a no go around here. I'm sure there are some that are 'ok' gadgets, but, we've yet to run across them.
No, we have family that seek out the loudest, most obnoxious battery operated toys they can find for my children. Most have their batteries removed promptly. Yes, we're evil parents LOL
The others, we just rest in the fact that we know the family is cheap and have gotten cheap batteries, so, it'll all be over in a couple of weeks LOL Just limit the access to such toys as best we can until then...or throw them outdoors!

[rofl] How about when you buy toys and take the batteries out before giving them to your kids? My boys have some toys that they don't even know that it's supposed to make noise because we took the batteries out before wrapping it up for bdays or Christmas! [rofl]

Thanks for the recommendation Lori! I'll look at getting Energizer batteries for my swing for Hannah! It drives me crazy when the batteries keep dying.

Yes!!!! Most of what we get from aforementioned family LOL Though, my kids being the smart cookies that they are...figure out there should be sounds of some sort, it needs batteries. My reply..'oh well, it works fine without it' I'm training them quite well. We go to stores and they see some 'obnoxious' toy..of course, they must press the buttons.....and as soon as a sound screeches out, they all gasp and cover their ears and at least 2 will shout "That's obnoxious!" or "That's annoying" or "Oh my goodness, that is LOUD!" or ... you get the idea hehehe

I am SOOOO with you girls!!!! All the noisy toys stay at my Mom's b/c it seems that she's the one who buys them. Maybe one day she'll get the hint! With 4 gkids making all sorts of noise, you'd think it would sink in huh???!!!

Btw, I love the idea of taking the batteries out b/f giving it to them!!! [thumbsup] I'm gonna have to give that idea a try!

I know what you mean. I let the batteries in a bunch of Rhyanne's toys die. Then my parents came to visit and my dad decided to be "helpful" and replace them all!!!!

My daughter is a little bit too young right now to get the concept...and I'll have to keep that in mind as she grows up! Hehe...that's just awesome!
