View Full Version : Rocker Baby

mmm don't ask me how I ever got my housework done with my NB twins but I am finding the combination of DD DS and baby NUTS when trying to do a simple thing like the kitchen.

One wants a bottle, one wants juice and the other will cut their knee or something ROTF -

Anyway - Matilda would start to grizzle in her rocker to be picked up, but yesterday DH and I discovered that if we put music on - she's quite happy. But as soon as the music stopped she'd grizzle.

The funny thing is, DH had just got the new Rouge Traders CD (which are electropop) they have very beaty music with a lot of synthasisers very 80's sounding and Matilda LOVES this music. She lays in her rocker looking facinated and allows me to get the kitchen cleaned at least ROTF.
I cannot believe it, you'd think she'd like something quiet like classical.

I am guessing perhaps the beat of the music reminds her of my heart or something? LOL!

I don't like this CD at all because I think Natalie Bassingthwaite (the singer) loves herself way too much - but hey if it means a clean kitchen - she's my new best friend ROTF

That's right! Sometimes we put up with some strange things but if it soothes baby so we can get some stuff done, then go for it.

I agree if you found something that works, hey run with it. Just a few free minutes can do wonders with a kitchen without a baby in one arm.

Yeah, whatever works! My DH's and my personal favorite is radio static. We're so used to it that we can even sleep with it on!

well I am 30 in Feb and DH 29 in May so we are both 80's kids.

Radio static is one thing recommended by childhealth experts for lulling babies at night - along with fish tank hums and cds featuring womb like noises

I used to go to sleep watching the cricket in Summer when DH used to work nights all the time, I used to strain awake at night listening for burglars unless I had a big test match playing in the background LOL LOL (cricket is enough to put the greates insomniac to sleep ROTF)

We hardly even hear the radio static anymore! Although, once she's asleep, I do prefer to turn it off! :)
