View Full Version : Disposable Diapers
harmony5 10-18-2006, 06:55 AM I know, ewww. But, I need some advice here. Preston is a heavy wetter and I can't seem to find a disposable diaper that doesn't leak. We used cloth for a long time, but morning sickness made me do otherwise. [whatblah] Don't know if I'm ready to break them back out again.
Anyway, what disposable do you use?
Thanks!
Lori :D
PS...I used Luvs with my older 2 and they worked fine. Preston pees right through them!!
I use Pampers. I tried every kind of diaper from generic to name brands. Huggies gave my dd diaper rash really bad. And pampers are the only ones that don't. Though she never leaked pee out of them, her poo came out of every direction. But then again, she is breastfed. Have you tried Pampers?
Pampers Premium was the best for us as far as avoiding overnight leaks. The Kroger brand diapers weren't bad either and more economical.
mom n luv 10-18-2006, 09:13 AM I like pampersthey do the job during the day but for nighttime the only thing that works for us is Huggies Overnights and I usually have to buy a size bigger than the rest of my diapers to make the overnights not leak.
Also I always make sure his little guy is pointed straight down and I fold the top flap down into the diaper these things also help him not pee out.
I hope you find somethin that works.
~Tara~ 10-18-2006, 10:23 AM Parent's Choice (from WalMart) has worked well for us. White Cloud was ok but I had problems with the closure tabs breaking off as I go to adjust the dipe. So I stopped those when my now 2 yr old was still in dipes.
Luvs always worked fine for me too, as far as leaks go. My baby just reacts to them and everything else that has been on his hiney but the PC and cloth.
Huggies were more prone to leaks in my experience, at least with newborn bf poo. *kablooey* was every single diaper LOL
breezykc2 10-18-2006, 11:01 AM We have found that Huggies Supreme works best for us....generics make him break out too...For overnights, Pampers overnights work well too.
danou 10-18-2006, 02:06 PM for my newborn, pampers are far superior to huggies. We haven't tried anything else yet.
mamallama 10-18-2006, 03:36 PM Parent's Choice (from Walmart) works for us too. Sometimes they still leak because my little guy can sure pee a lot! But that happened more frequently with other diapers. As Tara said, White Cloud brand didn't seem to hold up as well overall.
I am guessing you don't want to hear me say Huggies as they are expensive LOL. We use Huggies at night and on long trips - I generally CD during the day depending on whether it's raining or not (the CD save me bucks on the expensive Huggies) - other than that... the brands I use wouldn't be in the US - there are a lot of great generic CHEMIST brands here (that you buy from the chemist/pharmacy) and one of the main ones I love is COSIFITS.
Have you tried putting a pilcher or nappy cover over the disposable? I had to do that with DS at night when he was a baby because he'd wet his bed and clothes.
love2bmom 10-18-2006, 11:47 PM I swear by Pampers...
harmony5 10-18-2006, 11:52 PM Honestly, I do like Huggies, but they are more expensive. The only time I buy them is when I have a good coupon and they are on sale. He doesn't pee through them though. Maybe I'll try them again.

We use the Target brand or Wal-Mart brand and they work great. We tried Luvs a couple times and they are garbage! The only thing they have going for them is the tabs are a little more durable than generic brands.
SpiritFilledMomof2 10-19-2006, 12:13 AM Huggies for us. I usually get them at Costco as they are cheaper by the bulk there. For overnight leaks I'd go a size bigger, that seems to work. Pampers come in second. (I bought them recently because dd likes Elmo  ) And currently she's in Luvs (because she wanted Blues Clues) but I just realized from reading these posts that is probably why her bum has spots on them. Now I'll have to go out and buy the Huggies and donate the rest of the Luvs.
mommyto3 10-19-2006, 06:14 AM pampers cruisers. my daughter is very slim and they seem to be the only one that stays tight enough on her. ( she is almost 2 and wears a size 4, and the tabs still over lap)
Cheeseburger 10-20-2006, 11:36 PM I live in alberta, canada. While I was using disposables I found that Teddy's Choice (from Extra Foods grocery chain), worked the best, WAY better than huggies, I used huggies at the beginning but they did not hold as much as Teddy's Choice, and plus teddy's choice are half the price of huggies. One of my friends uses kirkland brand from costco, she says they are excellent, comparable to pampers, even though they are generic.
