I went to see my midwife on Friday and it went great. Despite my apparent slow weight gain (can't be sure because I didn't get an accurate beginning weight to begin with) my fundal height is measuring 23 cm and baby is doing well, very vigorous and active. My midwife also goes more on the nutritional value of food that a woman is eating, than the numeric number of pounds that she's gaining. I just love my midwife! :D
I talked to my midwife about a birthing pool and waterbirth, and she said that she had a pool that I can use.
Also, I told her about the green juicing that I do every morning and she said that that is a wonderful thing for milk supply. I guess maybe that's why nursing during pregnancy isn't too hard and my production seems to be good. (Producing colostrum now, but seem to have plenty of it!)
Does anybody know how to keep the water in a birthing pool warm? I'm going to run off and google that now.

Ruth-
I think there are portable heaters that one can use to keep the water at a consistent temp (I don't think they are used for actually warming the water- turn up your hot water tank for that).
If you can't find anything look at a livestock/farm store for trough heaters. (yes for livestock troughs!)

Great update, Ruth! Are you finding out the sex of baby?
What is the "green juicing" you do that has increased your milk supply? I'm not saying I would do it cause unfortunately, I'm far from being as healthy as you :( .. I wish I WAS...but I'm still curious. I still nurse and if I start showing signs of low supply, maybe I will try it...uh, did I say maybe? *snort* I think I need prayer to be healthier! lol

Yes, we're finding out the sex....in about 17 weeks from now! LOL. My MW doesn't send her clients in for routine ultrasounds. We actually didn't have any with Hannah, so she was a surprise too. :D
What I have done for the green juice is this basic recipe:
1) 1 whole head of celery
2) 5-6 kale leaves
3) 2-3 apples
4) 1 lemon whole (peel if non organic and you actually put it whole through the juicer)
Juice these all together and it tastes great! Kind of like lemonade! You can use romaine lettuce instead of the celery. You can use swiss chard, collard greens, spinach, etc. instead of the kale.
This drink is super for giving you calcium, iron, and all kinds of other vitamins and minerals. Just think....the cows eat grass to produce plenty of milk! Similar principle.
Do you have a juicer of any sort?

We have that Jack Lalanne Juicer, so I don't know if I could put the lemon rind in there.
Hmm, it sounds interesting... but if you say it tastes like lemonade...maybe I'll try it.
Thanks :)

You don't have to put the lemon rind through it. You can peel the whole lemon and then juice that through. I use a knife to peel it.
