just gave Brandon his first hair cut=( I'll try to post pics sometime, maybe;) His blondey-boy curls were getting out of hand and I had to do it so, I just took the clippers (on the longest setting- about 1/2 an inch) and had at it. I nearly (for real) cried when the curls came off[sadashamed] Cutting his hair was WAY more emotional then it ever was cutting emme's hair. I think it's a boy/girl difference. . .how about you moms of boys? Was the first hair cut that gut renching for you or is it just me? -ren

With my second son it was hard for me to cut his hair. Like you describe Brandon, my Ryan had the most adorable curly, curly blonde hair I loved it. When someone thought he was a girl at about 1.5 or 2 I knew I had to cut it. I like you was saddened, my baby seemed to grow up in that instant when I cut his curls. Its amamzing the difference a hair cut can make.

Anyway I have my daughter now, who has the exact same hair as my Ryan had and I get to let hers grow and grow. I love her blonde long curls and everytime I just say to myself goodness she has pretty hair I remember my Ryan. Gosh thanks for the memories there.

Hope you post a pic though, I would love to see his cute new cut.

YES! It was horrible! I was blubbering when DS got his first haircut. I think it was because I knew it would never be the same. He had the sweetest, softest thick hair with baby curls. Then after the first hair cut, it kept growing in more coarse and it's been straight every since. *sigh* With DD, she was three years old, I think, before we cut her hair and it was just a trim. She's always had looooong hair. This last year was the shortest we've ever cut it and I'm anxious for it to grow back out. LOL It was below her bottom...now it is between just below her shoulders and mid-back.

Oh, yes! [OK] I totally remember cutting Scotty's hair for the first time. He had the softest, blonde ringlets. I actually kept the first one I cut off and still have it in an envelope in his memory chest. Seems like it was just yesterday. *sniff* [crwy]

It *was* really hard. Soft blonde curls gone, he looked so grown up with short hair. It feels so long ago, now I have to convince him to get his hair cut because it looks so cute short. :-D
