What's the best thing about having a preschooler?

Teaching them to read?
Answering all those crazy questions?

SHARE!

I'd say the best thing is him being old enough for us to go out and have special fun times together, but young enough that he's not in school all the time. I take him to the park or library or people's houses and we both love going places. Sharing special times with him, and him making me laugh by all the crazy things he says. Thats what I love.

That combination of "I'm independent" and "I still need my mommy" :D

Probably that everything is new for them. When I explain things to Trevor, he's hearing it for the first time.

seeing them succeed and grow as a little person...and uh, don't forget the several hours with only one kiddo to chase! Heehee

Just their sweetness still is there, their wanting to please mom and dad. The way the question everything around them and how everything works. How they still love hugs and aren't afraid to show it how much they love mom and dad.

The innocence of this age is priceless. And also them discovering the world is more than just them.

It is a special time.
They are not a baby anymore & they love to play & love. It is a nice bonding time before they start off at school.

I agree w/ what the others have said :)

Because DS had a speech delay, I just love hearing him say I love you Momma or I love you Daddy. I love how much knowledge he is attaining. He knows A LOT about car makes and models. It's just something he's interested in.

I like the uncontrollable laughter, I can pick up my little guy at any time and tickle him or give him zerbits and kisses and he cannot stop laughing. It is wonderful how easy it is to make them happy. I like watching them try hard to do something new and get it. They are so cute!

This is a great thread!

The questions,
finding fun, silliness, excitement, and beauty is simple things,
laughter,
figuring things out and solving problems....even though it might be different than I'd have done or take longer that I would have taken to do it,

They crack me up at this age. Everything is new and exciting, and all the language faux pas. The connections they make (mostly correct but sometimes hilariously wrong...) and the exploring they do.

The best are the hugs and kisses and uncontrollable laughter.

I love how they know everything. (Except for their shoes. They never know where their shoes are.) They've got a creative answer for everything, and the confidence and pride they display when they give their answers is priceless.

Not having been a home schooler, the best thing about having a pre-schooler was that they were PRE school. :-D
