What's the best thing about having a toddler?
When they learn to talk?
When they start walking?

The amazing growth you can see each day...constantly being blown away by what she's learning, saying, doing.....the DAILY change you can see in her.

even though they are becoming more independant they still look for mom and dad and like to be held and snuggled still :-D

seeing their joy in the little things...pots, spoons, the tupperware cabinet, leaves blowing...reminds me to stop and enjoy him enjoying the small things in life and not get too busy to miss them!

I agree w/ what Jayne said. DS loves doing new things but still wants Mommy around for hugs. I sometimes feel like his security blanket. He likes to play by himself but will walk around if I'm in another room just to check. I know these days won't last long and I'm enjoying it.

That they have to sleep sometime.:p Just kidding!
Seriously.. that they still have that 'cute' factor. The funny mispronunciations, the silly humor.. all the things they do to make me laugh.
Seeing the world through the eyes of your child. You can learn so much from them.

Seeing their fascination and amazement with things and how they discover our world. It's pretty cool. "look Mommy, the snow sparkles!"

It is a toss up between their cute little "dancing" and when they put words together for the first time. A couple weeks ago I was taking ds to his bed and he leaned down toward my dh and said "night Dada" in he sweet little voice. It was so precious I got tears in my eyes.

When he will walk across the park only to discover this huge cool thing sticking out of the ground that he can bang his little hands on.... a pole. :) ...ah, the things we take for granted.
And, of course, that I am the run-to person when he is tired.

I love conversations with toddlers and preschoolers. I love never knowing what they are going to say next. I love the questions - and being able to share things about the world around us and about God with someone who is so keen to learn. I love getting to know them as they begin to communicate more verbally - seeing their distinctive personalities further developping. Oh and all those little milestones are so exciting for toddler and parent.

I could write so many things about this age, but the best part is their unconditional love and cuddles.

We haven't had the pleasures which you all have, yet. But it brought tears to my eyes of things to look forward too. This stage has been very trying for us.
Right now the thing I liked best about is Joel being able to walk on his own and not have to be carried every where. Yes, watching him learn brings me amasment and smiles, that is exciting.
He also gives me the biggest special smile just for me alone when I sing, 'God will Make Away' while he is in my arms. I will miss this special smile from him, afraid he will grow out of it.
Thank you, for this, it was such an encouragement to read.
