I'm thinking about getting one for our newest blessing, rather than upgrading to a king sized bed. Any comments on them from those who have used them?

View Full Version : Anyone ever tried Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper? BlessedMommy 10-07-2008, 07:56 PM I'm thinking about getting one for our newest blessing, rather than upgrading to a king sized bed. Any comments on them from those who have used them? 4HisGlory 10-07-2008, 08:15 PM we had the mini for Josh, we LOVED it. It was nice because it gave him his own room but me the security and comfort that he was literally in an arms reach. all I had to do was extend my arm slightly (since I sleep right on the edge) and I could feel him breath. it also made BFing easy just to bring him into bed and then put him back when we wanted to. One thing I did notice is with our bed, it is higher then the co-sleeper which made bringing him in and out I felt easier, when we visited my parents and took the co-sleeper their bed was shorter then the co-sleeper which made me have to hoist Josh up and then down into the sleeper. Also FYI we had the mini. It worked great till around 4 months when he started needing more room. The full co-sleeper is double the size and makes into a playpen which is nice if you have the room for it. davidsmommy 10-07-2008, 08:21 PM We have it, and love it. :) It is also the Mini. I wish we would have had it when David was a baby. Just remember to use the straps that go underneath your mattress. Without them in place, the baby can fall inbetween the bed and the cosleeper. breezykc2 10-07-2008, 08:54 PM L_O_V_E it!!! We still needed the king bed because WE SPRAWL so much though! Haha! The Co-sleeper is Awesome though!! Perfect!! Israel 10-08-2008, 03:41 AM Oh, it's nice to hear that I am not the only one who has done the co-sleeping in a bed smaller than a King! I sleep in the middle (we have the safety first bed rail) and I am still always so crowded and uncomfortable in bed. I always wanted to get the arm's reach and I will if we have another baby. I say get it if you can. I always looked on Craigs List for one and they ran about $75 here in Hawaii (when they have them). So, probably cheaper in your area. BlessedMommy 10-08-2008, 04:52 AM Thanks ladies! Just a question...what is the size difference between the mini and the full size? How long can you use each one for? I'd like to be able to use it for the first year or so. NZMummy 10-08-2008, 06:16 AM I can't comment from experience, but this is exactly what I needed for my daughter when she was younger. In fact, I imagined something just like this when I was dreaming up solutions - but had no way of getting my hands on one. I should have known that they existed somewhere. I have never seen anything like it here in New Zealand though. breezykc2 10-08-2008, 07:02 AM We have a huge bed, King and very high....so the full sized worked better...plus, we cosleep for the first 15-18 months usually, so the bigger one is better for them to grow too if you plan longterm co-sleeping. 4HisGlory 10-08-2008, 07:24 PM We have a huge bed, King and very high....so the full sized worked better...plus, we cosleep for the first 15-18 months usually, so the bigger one is better for them to grow too if you plan longterm co-sleeping. I agree, if you have the room the bigger one would be better just because they could stay in it longer. like I said my little one out grew the mini around 4 months. |
