Okay, my ds has shown a sensitivity to milk since he was first exposed to formula. We even went to soy formula for a while to see if it helped and it did. And as he grew we were able to take him back to regular formula which is where he is now.

Our doctor told us we could start introducing real milk to him but to take it real slow since he had problems in the past. So I started mixing the milk in 1/4 part at a time. When we got to the 1/2 milk 1/2 formula ratio he would spit it up...so I thought...he's not ready for that amount of milk yet.

So here's the strange thing...Yesterday, my MIL was taking care of him and I had forgotten to leave any formula for her so she just gave him straight milk knowing that we were trying to switch him over anyway. HE DIDN'T SPIT UP! A full glass of straight milk and didn't spit up one little bit! So when I got home I started thinking about this and for lots of reasons that would take too long to explain I decided to test the theory that the 1/2 ratio mixture upsets his stomach...and guess what: He has had 6 - 6 oz cups of straight milk and not spit up once! :?

Is that strange or what? Has anyone else had anything like that happen? I am glad he is switched to milk but who would have thunk it was just the mixture between the formula and the milk...if it wouldn't have been for my MIL going ahead and giving him the milk, we'd still be buying expensive formula to feed him:!:

Yeah that is strange but with a good end result. :D I remember with my daughter it was the other way around, she had no problems with formula but when i switched her to regular milk she couldn't handle it. It gives her an upset stomach and gas so i buy her organic milk and she is fine with that. Weird, huh?!

Totally strange! I know DS had quite a few senisitivies to a lot of things so I tried him on Karicare (formula for toddlers) and neither twin would have a bar of it, so we did the real milk thing with no problems.

The whole issue must have been stressing you out until that little suprise

Perhaps the little one is just at the age of maturity where the milk can be tolerated? DS appeared to grow out of many allergies (such as washing powder etc)

My oldest ds spat up a lot & it didn't seem to matter whether it was breastmilk or formula. When he started on cow's milk after his 1st b'day, it totally stopped and he didn't spit up anymore!
Not sure why? But I am glad your ds is able to drink milk now, that is great.
