Hey ladies, I talked to Amber today and she asked me to post some pictures and her story since she won't be having internet access until later next week.
Amber was having contractions really bad for about 4 nights in a row, she would wake up exasted but by morning the contractions would stop. So she went to work on tuesday and she felt wonderful. No contractions or anything. Well wednesday rolls around and she gets to work, there is a lady that she works with that is a massage therapist, all day she kept massaging or rubbing Ambers belly. While she was doing this Amber felt Makelah drop, she said it was the weirdest sensation. She could feel every movement, including Makelah's head rubbing against her cervix. She went to stand and felt a even weirder sensation, almost like something popped, she started walking to the restroom (but of course the closest one was occupied so she went to the further one) and some of her water came out. By the time she reached her room to be checked all of her water had come out (this was 4 in the morning and at her work). That was good, what was bad was the fact that she lost her black bag with extra scrubs/clothes in it and so she had to put two hospital gowns on and drive to the OTHER hospital where she was going to have her baby. When she gets there her contractions have stopped completley and she told them if they don't start after awhile she wants some pitocin So she went walking to get things moving along. When she came back she was at 5cm. She got into the tub and by noon she was dilated to 8cm... She was now in transition but said it was the easiest labor she'd ever had. She barely had to breathe through her contractions and was laughing and talking in between. Then within her last hour she really had to start consentrating and breathing. She got out of the tub since they don't allow water births at that hospital yet, so she had one long hard contraction and actually felt Makelah go under her pelvic bone, she got out and rushed to the bed, she wanted to squat but didn't have time she pushed once and felt Makelah's head come out and her body turned. One more push and she was out! Her cord was short so they had to cut it before placing her on Amber's chest. But when they did and she finally met Makelah for the first time, she said she recognized her face. It was so familiar to her. Makelah weighed 8lbs 3oz. and was 20 inches long. born at 1:38pm on September 11 (9/11) and she was Amber's smallest baby yet! Amber said that the delivery part was the most painful delivery that she experienced and thinks her pubic bone or pelvic area was damaged during the delivery. She's been in a lot of pain and is taking medication just to walk around. So please keep her in your prayers. Emma is loving her new little sister and gives her plenty of kisses!
