I called the doc's office this morning to cancel my appt with my original doctor this afternoon. No biggie. But the nurse keeps me on the phone, saying she needs to check something. Turns out someone booked me a consult appt with the new doc (that I booked with next week) for this afternoon as well! Odd that I wasn't told about this appt, but I'm not questioning it. As far as I'm concerned, this is an answer to prayer! So I see him at 3:50 this afternoon. I'll post an update tonight and let everyone know how it goes! Please pray! Thanks!

isn't God good! He knows our situations and our requests before we even know them!

Awesome! I'm so glad to hear that.

A friend got a job a few years back working in a school that she hadn't applied at. The principal had her application all filled out on the desk. I said at the time that she should get a copy, I wanted to see God's handwriting!

So here is the update...

The appt that was booked for me with the new doc was a referral from the first one. (Long story short, there was one minor issue that came up at my last appt that he wanted a second opinion on....ended up being nothing. Doc #1 is just not as knowledgeable.) As to why I was not informed about this appt, I still have no answer to.

My appt with Dr #2 went well. He was friendly, informative and helpful. Cleared up the non-issue brought up by Dr #1. Was sympathetic to my situation and assured me that I have options and I don't have to stay with Dr. #1. He did, however, tell me I should sit down with Dr. #1 and discuss my issues before moving on to clear the air. Good advice, even if it was the last thing I *wanted* to do.

So.....I wanted to get it over with, and was able to get my original appt slot back with Dr. #1. That was an absolutely miserable experience. I tried to be objective and not emotional in explaining my position. But he argued every point I made and took very little responsibility for anything I brought up. Kept saying the same things over and over to try to justify his position and negate mine. I ended up crying through the conversation, told him that I have had many health care providers in the past and have NEVER felt so uncomfortable after an appt in my life. (Referring to my GBS screen....sharing details would definitely be TMI) In the end, I had to cut him off and basically say I was not going to continue arguing about whether or not what I was saying was true, I was not comfortable continuing with him and would not be. Period. I got an apology for "any discomfort" he caused as an afterthought. sigh...that was a long 5 minutes.

On my way out of the office, the nurse caught my eye and saw that I was upset. She was so sweet....trying to make sure I was okay. I just told her that I wouldn't be a patient of Dr. #1 anymore. (I will have a different nurse with any other doc.) When she indirectly asked if there had been a problem, I just said it wasn't a good fit. (Not sure what else I could have said.)

So that is the update. Sorry it's so long. Things are looking up. Not sure at this point if I will be a patient of Dr #2 or another, but at least I can move on. Thanks for your prayers.

Sounds like the good Lord has intervened! I'm glad things are looking up :) That would be a hard conversation, it's to bad he couldn't hear you out and learn something from it. You are right, it would have been a waist of time to continue with that conversation! I hope you have a better experience with whichever one you end up with.

((((hugs)))) So so so so glad your not with doc 1 anymore!!! It really urks me when someone won't own up to their mistakes, and then he made you cry, awww. I think I would have just been like, umm I'm going with the other doctor, just because.. bye! lol. And ran, well as fast as a pregnant woman can run you know? lol. Anyway your new doctor sounds really good.

(My mother in law had a similar bad experience with a doctor she was seeing once, and she ended up telling them that she refused to see him because he made her feel uncomfortable. (He was suppose to be checking her stomach and he discreetly peeked down her bra, and pantys unnecessarily. She really couldn't imagine having him do surgery or something on her when she wouldn't even be conscious.) So anyway, your not alone, and I am so glad to hear you got rid of that not very nice man!

Yes, Jessy, things are looking up!

And thanks for the giggle, Chrissy! ("as fast as a pregnant woman can run..." )
