Payton wants me to be on the floor with him or to be on my lap if I'm sitting anywhere else. He will play with a toy if he is on my lap or if I'm next to him but the second I leave him sitting there and he notices I'm not RIGHT there he freaks. I'm not sure what to do! I make sure his needs are met, he's not hungry or tired. It's wearing me out. He's only like this when were at home. At my parents house or when we go elsewhere to visit he's very social and busy and doesn't mind me not being there, I'm wondering if he is getting bored maybe?!

My guess is that he might be picking up on you not feeling your best and is not sure how to respond. It's possible too, like you said that he needs something different to occupy him at home. Either way, the good news is this too shall pass. (Don't you hate it when people say that?? Sorry.) In the meantime, throw him in a sling or something similar if you have one for those really awful times of the day when you need to get something done and he is being clingy. If you are feeling up to it, take him out for a walk. The fresh air will do you both some good. If you have a new toy that you can give him, try that too. ((hugs))
