Hello ladies...

well today we had our appt. with the MW... the heartbeat was fine... :)

But she is a little bit concerned about pre-eclampsia.... (that's the way I found it was spelled in Wikipedia he he) .... my feet and legs are very swollen, I have some high protein in my urine and today my blood pressure was a little bit high ... (I usually have my Blood pressure great but not today) ... besides they are concerned because I see spots of light sometimes... :(

So, they just want to make sure and they are doing some testing... I got really worried though.... 'cause she explained the possible consequences of pre-eclampsia and I didn't like it (seizure, brain damage or in the worst scenario death) .... I had some blood test done which I will hopefully know the result tomorrow... and I am now collecting urine (for 24hrs. in a big jug ... iack!)

If the results are positive ... they will induce labor on Friday.... If the results are negative they are going to wait 'till labor starts on its own unless I pass the 41st. week.... in that case they would induce too...

Please pray that the results are negative and that this baby is born when God wants her to be born.... peacefully and healthy.

Thank you girls...

Love,

Paloma.

I went into pre-eclampsia with my first (it's most common with your first and many times you have it with the first and then not with following pregnancies... of course some do every time though)
I delivered a month early without complications, don't fear the induction. I had the fullest dose of pitocin available and labor for me personally was no worse than all natural with my second...I didn't have any drugs or epidurals either time. So don't worry! Good luck!

I will be praying that everything will go well either way....

I had pre-eclampsia with my first child and they induced us at 38 weeks....I had a beautiful and healthy 8 lb 5 oz little one......

I had pregnancy induced hypertension after the birth of my second child....basically pre-eclampsia after delivery.....but it went away and all was good there......

It all sounds scarry, but it is usually pretty benign.....hang in there....whatever happens you will soon be holding your precious baby girl in your arms.......

Just a note...your blood pressure will be high for about 6-8 weeks after delivery, but it should come back down.....also, the swelling in your legs, hands, and face will probably get worse after delivery and will be with you for up to two weeks....but that too will subside......I know that I was freaked out that my blood pressure stayed up and I was so swollen after delivery....but it takes time for your body to re-regulate itself......

Oh, sweetie, I'll be praying for everything to be okay with you and baby. However, just one question, did they state why they would induce at 41 weeks, if there were no problems?

Full term is anywhere from 37-42 weeks. I had my daughter at nearly 42 weeks myself.

I had high blood pressure with my first two pregnancies. First one induced at 38 weeks, healthy 7 lbs 13 oz baby girl. With second pregnancy had high blood pressue from 32 weeks on. was put on medication while they monitored baby. ( his lungs we underdevelopped.) was induced at 37 weeks and he was 8 lbs 10 oz.

will be praying for you and you little girl.

You know what its been awful quiet from the Paloma front lately. I wonder if she went into labor?

Skunk you are close with Paloma right? Have you heard anything?

Praying for you Paloma!

I'm still waiting to hear from her too. I am leaving out of town, so you all may hear from her before I do :(
I have been watching her little online/offline button....she has not even been online yesterday or today. I'm only "guessing" she may be in the Hosp.....but I don't know for sure. I hope to hear something before we leave.
