DD decided she wanted to make a growth chart in her room....only she forgot to ask first. She used a pen and wrote it on there!! I've already tried the magic eraser and it's not coming off! HELP! [whathelp]

what kind of wall is it? does it have a certain type of paint on it?

O Wow I am stumped.....I use the eraser for everything and I am surprised it is not coming off for you....

hairspray sometimes works also

It's kind of wallpaper...we live in a double-wide trailer. :/

I think I'd try a cotton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol first...as it's the alcohol in hair spray that works anywho :p
Just watch it as I don't know what it would do to the wall covering. I've not tried that, just thinking ;)

I would try cascade dishwasher gel. do you have any of that? seriously that stuff has gotten everything off our wallpaper in our trailer hehe. and our wallpaper is white!!!

good idea cheese! any dw gel i imagine could work i know i have bleached more than one article of clothing by getting dw gel on it...various brands

I have used rubbing alcohol successfully.

Cascade did not help AT ALL. Rubbing alcohol got about 50% of it off. But you can still obviously see it...

ETA: I went back to work on it. I take it back...the combination of alcohol and Cascade took 50% off.

So, is it the vinyl wallpaper that comes with the trailer? You know you can paint right over that stuff (home depot sells primer for it.) the inspector that came to our house the other day said our neighbors painted theirs and it looked like a million bucks. Just buy the right primer.

the other option is to peel off all the vinyl wallpaper and finish the drywall yourself (including the seams where the strips are). That takes more work though I think.

I've been cleaning similar walls in my kitchen (prepping to paint) and I used soft scrub! - worked great for me - of course I didn't have any ink marks on my kitchen wall but it's worth a try.
